some rando that added me a long time ago from dom'ing him in a pub came out of the blue and asked me to ring for a match. I clicked the link he provided saying they were using that to play, it prompted a sign up through steam. It proc'd my steam guard to open up on my phone, and also from an unknown source sent a numeric code to me saying here's a code to deactivate steam guard. Where on this site i'm signing up to "join the roster and play", the form to take the authentication code wouldn't take the string code Steam Guard supplies, only the numeric code. It wanted to retrieve the recovery code I was sent, it didn't care about the steam guard authentication. An email also got sent to me saying a recovery attempt has been made on my account and if I didn't initiate this, lock the account down. I questioned this, he said it was "3rd stage authentication", to whit I could only say I've never heard of that nor trust it. Peace'd out, he removed me shortly after. Careful boys, the link was "careplayit dot vip"

I just don't want to make it clickable and spread the possibility of somebody signing up for it and getting pwnd. If it's some real site, then w/e but that's some creepy shit. I believe a phishing attempt has been made on my life and it left me scarred and deformed.

SOURwc was this guy's name or something. Didn't get screencaps because a scammer never made it nearly this far on me before and didn't think about it but I just wanted to warn anybody who hasn't seen a new ringer for a match scam.

Stay frosty boys and gals.

why would you trust any other website except major leagues annoucenced on this website? no one ever should trust anyone telling them to sign in to a website EVER

to expand this, any API (discord, steam) login that you go through isn't harmless in of itself, it cant make changes on behalf of your account unless you specify that it can. its very hard to distinguish the difference and it can make or break your account so be very careful on sites you do not trust 100% or was told by someone you do not know.
