Who else is taking off work to watch every single game? thrill and I will be swapping out the computer chair for a couch so we can spectate in comfort and style. Also, do you guys think my boss will suspect I'm a druggie for taking off work on 4/20..?

Given the date, they'll prolly think you're doing something else with your personal day...

Hard for me to juggle Saturdays to get them off now adays, I will be stoked to watch the Grand Finals Sunday though.

I'm taking one day off for Sac LANFest and one day off for ESEA LAN. Even scheduled my flight to be the same as enigma's.

HYPE IS THE CORRECT TERM.

EDIT: also I'm sleeping with John

If think wants to keep track, he can edit his post to have a list of the non-LAN team people going. Otherwise someone should start a new thread.

EDIT: gram grams

If Cyzer's lap is considered a front row seat.. then I have a front row seat.

You actually requested off work for a LAN you aren't playing in, or even going to?

That is correct. And what of it? I'm having fun, and I'm spending that time with awesome people I like. It's not like it's super expensive for anyone who has a solid paying job; it's an in-country travel for an extended weekend.

Your tone really makes it sound like this is incredibly weird. People that are going (that aren't competing) are being social there. Is that supposed to be a bad thing now?

How does it make you feel that I flew up to Seattle to play at Emerald City LAN for the weekend, although I'm from California? I sure as hell had fun and thought it was well worth my time.

Did you not read my whole post that you quoted? I said "or even going to". I fly and drive way too far for LANs all the time, and it's more about seeing friends and being social than playing games for me.

If you are going to ESEA LAN as a spectator that's cool, I don't blame you. My question however wasn't even directed at you, it was for think.

By the way, if you were legitimately curious, then I apologize for my tone; many people close to me that aren't from video games really don't understand how cool this is. It kinda irks me because it's really not much different than many other types of social gatherings.

Fair enough, I see what you mean; that think is taking the work day off not to attend but to watch the game (he would have to clear that up I guess?). In that case, I guess it's more akin to Superbowl Sunday. :)

No no, I'm a nerd, I don't look down on anyone for nerdy things. Like I said, I travel all over for LANs, and while I am playing at them it's more about seeing friends.

I was legit curious if thinks OP was real or just a troll tho.

think of it this way

if all of baseball playoffs + the world series (feel free to substitute a sport you enjoy watching) happened in 2/3 days, tons of people would take the time off work ESPECIALLY if it was on the weekend

two straight 8 hour days of watching all your buddies duke it out lan while talking with everybody else you play with in mumble is some of the most fun ive had watching tf2

run on bad grammar but you get my point

its the best tf2 in the world and its the whole point of the fucking season, so why NOT watch it all?

No.

As I said in the OP my friend in real life (you know him as thrill the Mighty Duck, I know him as Ronnie) and I are watching it in front of my computer all day.

We're gonna eat so much candy.

Should be the most interesting lan we've seen in a while.
An undefeated team vs the previously undefeated team.
Plus no team is predetermined to get 4th.
I'm pumped :>
