it_is_crownDidnt get any small talk between Tony and Pepper about her armor. I was waiting something about the gift or "how does it feel?".

honestly i completely forgot that he was making her a suit by the time it was relevant and I was so horribly confused. One downside of 3+ hour movies is that details get forgotten.

I really fucking liked this movie, Fat Thor and Hulk Banner were super weird executive decisions but they ended up working so well. 10/fucking10

This movie is a huge fan service fiesta. As someone who is only mildly interested in the MCU I found it to be boring as all hell. There's no nuance or tension, everything happens exactly how you'd expect it to with a metric ton of verbal exposition. The parts that stood out the most to me were the Fortnite, Audi, and Ben and Jerry's adverts.

yeah i don't think i'd recommend endgame to people that haven't seen at least half of the MCU since 2008 lol

all of the real action is in the last 30 mins of the movie or so and the first half of the movie is just showing everyone being depressed from the aftermath of infinity war

Well ya it was definitely a film for people who were more than mildly interested in the MCU, it was fairly predictable for the most part mainly because it’s the last film in the series and you don’t have to be too clever to realise it’s gonna end a bit better for the heroes this time, plus you could see exactly where it was going from past films + trailers
IMO it was impressive that they managed to keep it somewhat unpredictable when it came to the big things in the film like

stark having a second gauntlet in his armour and finishing Thanos and co

but yeah I mean, you can’t expect to see the last film in a series this long and expect to truly get a lot out of it unless you’ve both seen the majority of previous films and are interested in the finale to begin with

easily the worst of the series. I had huge expectations based on the 3 hour length.

Show Content
The major battle scene could have saved the movie but the whole battle was one big reunion fest between major characters.

Capt America using Thor's hammer was awesome, as was Thanos plucking out the Power Gem to bust capt. Marvel in the face after he headbutt her.

I had a faint hope of the object entering the battle to be The Silver Surfer. Instead it was Capt Marvel and I was sad.

Can someone explain to me when captain America could you use lightning with thors hammer. It's stated in thor ragnorak that the hammer just channeled thors power so I don't see why captain america would get lightning powers from it.

Among other powers, the hammer itself has the powers of the elements inside of it. That is why Capt America, or anyone holding the hammer, can call on those elements.

Thor can summon lightning and other elements without the hammer. The reason his lighting attacks and power are so devastating is because after so many years of use, he can channel and magnify his natural abilities through the hammer.

do y'all not remember in ragnarok where his sister literally shatters mjolnir? and then his dad has to tell him that it was a essentially a pacifier? like yeah thor can do all that shit without mjolnir but he certainly had to relearn how without it.

That hammer helped you control your
power, focus it. But it was never
the source of your strength
I wouldn't be surprised if in the comics and other renditions the hammer held power, but if the MCU is going to stay true to it's own lore it shouldn't contain power.

Yes, I am talking about the comics. Its the only way to talk about it.

Obviously just about very single Marvel movie that was made is just to appeal to the audience and try to make an entertaining movie. That is totally fine but there are literally tons of things that are not found in the comics that find their way into the movies. My advice, stop quoting things from in the movies.

I just want the movies not to have things that conflict with what's said directly in the movies, them breaking the lore from the comics is to be expected.

The movies just use the comics as an outline then fill in the gaps lol

Just watched it and while cap+lightning, cap's return and some other things require a bit of "flexible logic" I'm willing to forgive it all for one simple reason.

As soon as the huge fight started I was reminded of a quote:

"Behold! The awesome fires of god. The limitless power of pure creation itself", my master would say. "Look carefully! Observe how it is used for the same purpose a man might use an especially sharp rock."

The whole thing was some straight up medieval shit, just people whacking each other with fists, space swords and everything in between. No one ever brings artillery to these fights. What are we, barbarians?
Well turns out that even though his execution was lacking this time, Thanos' plans are solid as always. He did bring artillery.

Be smart, be like Thanos. Bring artillery to a fist fight.

I mean I don't watch these films for hard sci-fi, I watch them for entertainment. Did it entertain, did it do what it should, was it a worthy finale? Yes it was.

Well the games market literally halved and a lot of programmers may have moved to more infrastructurally important projects so maybe we'd actually be stuck with Fortnite forever.
Also maybe aliens and 13 year olds have the same poor taste in video games and never moved to better games since they started playing it in 2019.

If you're this far into the thread you're probably expecting spoilers anyway but

I enjoyed the time heist segment of the movie a lot. Final battle felt kinda meh. And I didn't laugh as much as I did in Infinity War. I barely remember any jokes that made me laugh now that I'm thinking about it. This film felt more focused on closing loose ends in each of the heroes' franchises (which was nice for cap and tony).
