IM Power Rankings Week 2

1. Mr_popo_rocks (2-0)

Roamer : reimu

Medic : meyy
Mr_Popo_rocks still stands to be the number one team as they show dominance over the bottom potential playoffs teams with some slick 5-0s. Their match stats have shown that every member on this roster show dominance in their respective roles.

2. Back in the Habit (2-0)
Scouts : Max, yosh
Roamer : ranga
Pocket : SidewaysWhoopi
Demo : throne
Medic : feces
With Velocity Blacks loss to OMNI5, Back in the Habit moves into the number two spot. Although playing fairly lengthy matches, they also showed dominance for the bubble teams in IM a 5-0 fashion. They’re in the number two spot because it seems that some members on the team can’t keep up with others, and they’re going to need all of their roster to step up in order to beat popo.

3. Velocity Black (1-1)
Scouts : dippidy, Rikachu
Roamer : maelstram
Pocket : Dylan
Demo : odb
Medic : drake
Velocity Black moves down a spot due to their loss to OMNI5 on badlands, who were previously ranked #5. Although they lost to a team below them by 3 spots, I still believe that their individual skill levels make it hard for them to drop below top 4.

4. OMNI5 (2-0)
Scouts : mc, cukei
Roamer : unskilled
Pocket : kawa
Demo : fygg
Medic : Daffodil
OMNI5 move up to the #4 spot over the Gugs. With a nice 5-2 win over velocity black, this team has shown that they come overcome any challenge. If cukei, kawa and fygg keep performing the way they did against velocity black, they definitely have the ability to even contest for a top 2 placing.

5. The Gugs (2-0)
Scouts : playmo, newspeak
Roamer : digi
Pocket : edward
Demo : mausy
Medic : exile
The Gugs still remain a top IM team but have dropped into #5 mainly due to OMNI5’s performance against velocity black. The Gugs have barely been contested by top IM teams and I would like to see how they fair against Carpool Cucks in snakewater week, and OMNI5/back in the habit in granary week to see an accurate placing.

6. HAPPYbois Esports (1-1)
Scouts : bwelp, pr
Roamer : fire/yahtzee
Pocket : Christie
Demo : moxie
Medic : HappyBOB
Although they had a tough loss against Carpool Cucks, HAPPYbois remains in the top 6 spot. Their loss to Carpool Cucks was mainly due to back caps and 1v1s, which is the story of badlands. Even with a 5-1 loss, this team showed that their roster still doesn’t suffer individually, and their attempt to work back from a loss and not tilt shows a top 6 IM effort.

7. Sporadic eSports (2-0)
Scouts : s1ke, legit
Roamer : Goku
Pocket : Hayes
Demo: ambroon
Medic : Dagger
Sporadic eSports remain in their 7 spot with good wins over bubble IM teams. With good performances from their projectile classes, this team has shown that they’re a strong overall team. I would like to see how they fair against OMNI5 and Parrotlet to see if they show the power to keep their top 7 spot.

8. Theory of Knowledge (2-0)

Scouts: Phone and Messiah
Roamer: Meatball
Pocket: Air
Demo: Stock
Med: Caboose
Theory of Knowledge enters the top 8 spot with a 5-3 win over Parrotlet E-sports. Theory of Knowledge proves that they have the ability to make top 8 by outclassing Parrotlet in all areas, and I’m excited to see how they fair against back in the habit.

I'm confused when someone makes power rankings, and a team beats a team but the team still gets put higher in the rankings then the team they lost too. Why is that?

If you took into account all the matches then you're just left with the standings. Maybe they think the other team is (still) better, or had players underperform in that match. Regardless it's silly / pointless to rank Team A over Team B off of one match if both teams are at a similar level. Every time y'all ask for rankings you're asking for someone's opinion. But when they post something you don't agree with it's "haha u suck xd" everywhere. Again, please go ahead and write your own power rankings.
