#49 Tagg: Why I "Quit" TF2 in Videos
Reerocinim far from perfect but i have to say that everything tagg said about the experience of roaming for invite teams hit me hard and his validation kinda helped me find my validation

needless to say the things he said about this community are also very true and is a big factor in many people i know's declining motivation to play

i also really want to echo post 39 because tooth is speaking the trooth with his thoughtstoothThe level of toxicity is heavily correlated with how far up the ladder you climb. It's not guaranteed that you'll have similarly bad experiences, but that chance goes up a LOT as you get into higher levels of play and therefore higher personal competitive drives.

Having said that, that's no excuse and I've always been astounded by how absolutely terrible many people can act when given a layer of anonymity and a lack of repercussions.

no denying i did that like i said far from perfect though that was admittedly unrelated to the game
e: for a little elaboration i am not denying i have been part of the problem over the years just also emphasizing that what tagg and tooth said is true. i am trying to do better about not projecting my frustrations outward and that's all i can say

#1 ReSurfed and ReHopped are closing on January 15th in TF2 General Discussion

this is just a reminder and a bit more publicized announcement to tftv that these servers will no longer be operating after this date
rest in peace (unless someone creates something else) to one of the best 6s warmups and in general one of tf2's best custom gamemodes

Hi all,

It's with regret that I announce that ReSurfed servers will be closing on January 15, 2020.

6 years ago, when I created ReSurfed out of the ashes of SurfiT, I had no idea what a wonderful thing this would turn into. At our peak we had over a dozen servers running, with over a hundred concurrent players. Unfortunately, an overall decline in the TF2 surfing population (primarily caused by CS:GO going F2P), life changes and lessened interest from myself, Deathly, Malt, and other admins, and a drying up of the stream of donations have led to this point. We could leave servers running a bit longer, but rather than have the servers continue to die a slow, painful death they are going to be killed off now. I do hope that someone will pick up the torch of TF2 Skillsurf, it's a great community that I'd hate to see completely disappear. (more on that below)

I want to thank all the admins and community members that have helped make ReSurfed what it is over the past few years. That list starts with Deathly for doing a ridiculous amount of coding and server maintenance, but it includes more people than I can ever hope to name, from coders to mappers to our EU and AUS server hosts to server admins. It truly does take a village, as the saying goes.

For more details on what's going to happen January 15 -- servers and website will go offline. Discord will keep running as a community hub. We will be making a final backup of the timer database before they go offline -- while this database will not be distributed publicly since it contains among other things a giant list of SteamIDs and their IP addresses, we do hope to make it available in some form.

If you are someone interested in continuing the tradition of TF2 skillsurf by starting another server in the new year under another name, please contact myself or TheDeathly and we will be happy to work out making our plugins and database available to you for that purpose. Just be aware that we won't be able to provide much in the way of tech support getting things started, so you might want to know your way around SQL. :)

Again, thanks for everything folks, it's been a wild ride. It may be "just a video game", but the people in this community are real people and have created real friendships due to this silly game mode we all love. In a world full of shitty things, I'm proud to have helped create something this positive.

puzza seems fairly positive from my experiences and she also has insane scout v scout for her level so that's probably her little niche
