WiethoofdDisabling outlines in configs.... the 'unoptimized' argument is BS, the entire game is not optimized....

Whatever you do with eyes/teeth/facial expressions/shadows is all personal preference, but don't fuck around with stuff that is controlled through (Advanced) Options and stored in config.cfg anyway.

i'm looking at you comanglia, forcing hud_fastswitch.

I thought 'private repository' meant people with the link could see it, and it wouldn't show on my profile.
It was never deleted, and now that it is not on private, the config is there to stay.

Oh right, and the posts I just decided to remove? Some of them had incorrect information, I don't want to be misleading anyone, it's already been done enough times by other people on this forum.

If you want to learn what each command does, look at it in the source sdk and experiment with it in game, it's on github ready for public viewing.

If you cared so much about me calling you an egotistical skid that got destroyed by Valve's anti-cheat, something is clearly in the wrong here.

treetoonI'll be switching to feliks using DX8.1, despite the 10~% FPS loss over Comanglia's because it feels like it's running smoother.

You know this is something I've never been able to quite figure out. Cause I know when I tried the -default I noticed players movement seemed a lot smoother but I was getting significantly lower framerate and mouse movement felt a bit odd. I had assumed one of 2 things was happening either A their was some kind of placebo going on, or B at higher settings their might be more animation frames for model movement (or something to that affect), but I was never able to pinpoint exactly what it was or how to get that in my config.

so why exactly should I use 0.02 over 0.031 or 0.033

it's a little confusing

motionblur doesn't work in dx81

that's definitely not it. motion blur is an awful thing and doubly so in TF2. Motion blur in TF2 makes me nauseated while most other games it's just annoying.

its prob cl_smooth and cl_smoothtime set to default that makes ur game more "smooth" or "fluid"

ive personally experieced it in forced mm settings, the game is more fluid

Snowshoe-default launch option i'm guessing sets the interp to 0.1 (100 ms) which makes things like sentry animations smooth, possibly other stuff too.

cl_smooth doesn't smooth other players, only your first person view, and only when prediction errors happen (usually when bumping into players/moving objects, getting airblasted, etc).

it's hard to say, maybe a combination of both.

So is there a definite answer to using cl_smoth 0 or 1, or it depends on the individual?

manuzis this config more stable than comanglias?

In my opinion it definitely is.
You might get a few less FPS with this config vs comanglias, but since I switched my game feels A LOT smoother,
FPS seem more stable, plus the game looks better and less graphical glitches.
Unless you absolutely have to keep your FPS above a certain threshold for some reason (like 120Hz monitor) and you can't do it without the few extra FPS comanglia's gives you, there's no reason to use comanglia's config over this one imo.

@Felik: Why did you stop developing/updating your config?
Did you get frustrated with some of the negative feedback or do you just feel like it's a finished product?
Do you plan to maybe update it if a update makes it necessary or did you abandon the project all together?

Hey man notice you updated this. https://gitlab.com/felik/TF2-Config

Looks great dude.

There's only 1 thing I have to comment on.

mat_antialias 0

this should probably be commented out or set to 1 you can have 0 aliasing as that would mean nothing would render on a screen, some people say this fucks with input lag when set to 1 so you may just want to comment this out. Setting this to 0 just means it will take slightly longer to load the game.

Decided to try out this config, and was wondering what command(s) I'd have to change this super defined "HD" look to the textures. They're so defined it's borderline distracting. Nothing changed but shadows in the actual config.

Really noticeable on the bricks and the diamond plate textures on the ramp.

hmm. I noticed in preferences you set cl_autoreload to 0, claiming that it is better to reload manually?
And I just wanted to know why you thought that was the case?
Other than that, great cfg well done!

Love this config.
Gives me slightly more FPS than comanglias, but the game looks a lot better and feels smoother.

why is there a config in the download to be used with a cheat lol?

cat_matchexec.cfg

// For use with cathook.

tf_spec_xray_disable 1 // You don't need this when you have an ESP.
cat_set sv_cheats 0 // If you leave sv_cheats on by accident, you will get banned by SMAC on community servers that use it.
cat_set sv_client_min_interp_ratio -1 // Ignores the server not allowing you to set this to -1.
cat_set cl_interp_ratio 0 // Since the minimum interp ratio is being unrestricted now, you can set this to 0.

How do I fix the bullet tracers?

And also, is there a way to decrease wait time when using snd_restart?
