Guitar... mostly electric. Been playing for about 12 years. Also can play drums and djembe.

On guitar I mostly just make stuff up, much of it in drop-D, mostly metal type stuff. But also enjoy playing blues and some classical.

Been playing guitar for ~5 years. Picked up drums ~2 years ago. I'm mostly self-taught at the drums, so I'm not that good ;_;

I've also been playing with the Overtone Music Programming Language which is basically a clojure environment tuned for music programming.

Studied tuba for 8 years, jazz trombone for one, and can play euphonium at a college level. Dropped it a year ago, but have energy wanting to get back into music for fun. Might buy a didgeridoo and see how that goes.

Been playing piano for like 12 odd years now, originally I was trained classically but more recently I've far preferred playing blues and jazz. Kinda tempted to pick up something new, but honestly I'm not to sure what to go with.

I've been playing drums for about 2-3 years now on a jazz/r&b band. I will try to learn piano this summer because i want to play something new. I also write a couple of songs/projects for fun on FL Studio, mostly experimental hip hop. I could post a few of my projects on Soundcloud and link it here if you guys are interested.

I've been playing guitar for about 14 years now. I've been in metal bands and jam bands...but finally have a nice acoustic act with some old friends that's able to generate money. We play 2 shows a week consistently (mostly bars and restaurants). It's not a career but it's something!

Here is us at a Halloween show last year. I'm playing the bass then

I played piano for around 11 years before I quit due to time constraints and inability to comprehend music theory. I hope to relearn it some day and possibly become able to compose my own covers of songs I like.

I play guitar/bass at the moment, gonna get into learning drums after my exams.

Any advice on how to start right-handed when you're left handed originally? Kinda wanna learn the basics right-handed first.

I play the guitar, and have been for about ~4 years now. I'm also taking vocal lessons (if that counts as an instrument), and I've been doing that for about 5 months. I'm "a Baritone, with a very high top-end" according to my vocal instructor.
For the most part I just learn to play songs, but recently I've been having to write my own stuff as I'm the rhythm guitarist in a prog rock band now - so that's interesting :P

THEBILLDOZERsuikainability to comprehend music theory.i know that feel all too well. college music theory classes are probably what made me quit.

I actually loved music theory classes and hated the more hands on ones. But I've always been better at music theory than actually playing music so there's that.

I played classical guitar for 12 years, alongside the piano, Irish tin whistle, and harmonica. I've dabbled with a few other instruments (bodhran, bass, any string instruments I could get my hands on). Also took some voice lessons in college. Was really bad. Used to play in a jam band, we had the tin whistle, an accordion, and a banjo. We got every musician joke known to man (outside of the drummer jokes). Haven't played anything since I moved back East, I've been wanting to pick up a banjo and learn because it's my favorite instrument and I don't think it would be difficult to learn at this point, but haven't gotten around to it.

If you can't tell I mostly like playing country, folk, bluegrass, and the occasional blues.

i'm majoring in musical performance on piano

honestly I love music and can play just about anything that's not a brass instrument (i dont know how the fuck you guys play those things it makes ZERO sense to me)

i've tried writing music before but I enjoy playing it a whole lot more.

Been playing saxophone (jazz and classical) on the 4 major ones for about 10 years. Played bass for 4 years. Currently playing keyboards in a psych rock band where I am the main writer as well. Can also play guitar, drums, bodhrin, and can sing.

I was considering doing like a music major, but I didn't the the work worth it because you can also be a successful musician without any education. That being said, I am quite knowledgeable when it comes to theory. I know most modern-practice, jazz (up till the crazy chord theory), and some neo-classical/neo-riemann,

I played drums for several years and percussion in high school. I was never very good since I didn't take it that seriously, but if given the chance I'd like to learn bass guitar. I guess since I didn't take it seriously and now I've graduated and don't play anymore, I've actually become more interested in music lately.

21 years of guitar, and bass. Dabble in drums, keys, and banjo. Been gigging for 16 years.

Everything from jazz, to bluegrass to punk. Metal is about the only thing I haven't played.

I've been playing drums for just shy of 10 years, guitar for about 6 years, and bass for about 4 or 5 years.

I do "one man band" type recordings where I overdub myself over and over to make a song... I come up with an idea on guitar and run with it.

https://soundcloud.com/hyce777

That's where my original stuff is.

I also play in a fun rock band named BEERFINGER as the guitarist (mostly) and drummer (on like 2-3 songs).

was on my way learning to play the piano, but after my tutor had to quit teaching me, i didn't feel like continuing.
i still want to pick up drums, but don't have space for a drum set :<
also interested in learning violin, most beautiful instrument imo.

made alot of digital stuff over the years (with fruity loops -> reason -> ableton live), which is really fucking awesome after you get some understanding of your software + you get a bunch of nice samples.
recommending it to anyone, because you can make anything you want.
really the only downside is that it might be a big pain to get good samples.
