Having played competitive games in some form or another for a long time. I now find myself in a position where I just cant sit down and play a single player game of more than 5 minutes without wanting to go play tf2.

I have so many games on steam and I literally cant sit down and play any of them.

thanks tf2....

Anyone in the same situation?

i'm pretty sure that a lot of the reason people play competitive tf2 is because of that feeling, goes to show that tf2 is a pretty good game

I'm in a similar position. In my situation though, I think of how I'm playing some other game that isn't TF2 and how I could be practicing and getting better if I was playing TF2.

tf2 has so many game modes. pub, mge, 6v6, 9v9, pyro dodgeball, dm, bball, jumping, surfing, etc.

pugs, lobbies and scrims/matches differ vastly even though they follow the same formats. some pubs/pugs/lobbies are more serious than others. you can pugscrim against actual teams and have an atmosphere that is much different from both pugging and scrimming. it's great.

I am feeling exactly the same, Turbo. I used to like all sorts of different games back in a day, but since TF2, it's as if I lost interest in games in general - I get tired playing single player games quicker and I became very picky in certain genres.
Very rarely do I ever finish a game to the end nowadays :/

I think I haven't finished a single player game since the Call of Duty 2 single player campaign. Multiplayer games are so much more engaging.

Yeah, I'm in the same situation for the last year.
I used to play a LOT of different single player games before, now, for the last year, the only games I beat was The Walking Dead and Batman Arkham Asylum (which was a replay) and the released episodes of The Walking Dead 2 and The Wolf Among Us.

While I've bought and played for some hours: Dark Souls, Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Hard Reset, Batman Arkham City, Sleeping Dogs, Darksiders and Darksiders 2, Hotline Miami...
Besides some games that I got in Humble Bundles and I didn't even install.

Meanwhile, in my last 2 weeks I have 63.9 hours of TF2 and 0.7 hour of Dead Island: Epidemic (which I got a beta key and played it just to see how was the game).

Also I lost interest in any new games (besides The Witcher 3, which will be the only game that will keep my attention besides those Telltale's ones because I just love The Witcher series).

I still play a lot of singleplayer games. They're good for when I need a break from tf2 or dota. I usually don't get around to playing them until way after they come out though. I've been playing a ton of Dark Souls 1 lately and I still need to play The Witcher games.

I think most people that play multiplayer games become very uninterested in single player after a while.

Whenever I go on my monthly pokemon-binge, I come back to tf2 being really fucking bad. I guess thats what keeps me away from most other games, as I feel like I could be practicing and playing tf2, getting better at it.

I struggle to play anything else for more than 30 mins. Well I can play csgo but it just turns me into a raging fuck like when I used to play css.

I'm in the opposite situation. I love playing single players games for hours at a time. I've played skyrim, dues ex, ftl, CIV V, fallout: new vegas, mass effect series, kotor, witcher, xcom along with a myriad of snes roms. Hours on steam range from 50 (witcher 2, which will be getting a second playthough soon) to 850+ (civ v) not to mention all the times where I'm looking at wikis and other forums for the games. I get sucked into the depth, mechanics and the lore of the game just like tf2. Nevertheless, I still love tf2 the most and still consumes the majority of the time. I think that I just love slow paced things as they give me a lot of time to think.

Diablo 2 is the first (kind of) single player game that I've sunk a lot of time into since I beat Bioshock Infinite last year. I think the allure of TF2 for me is that I enjoy all of the different things I can do in it (jumping/mge/pugs/surfing/bball/etc), so it's way harder for me to get bored with it because I can always just do something different. Not to mention all the really weird shit you can also do like super smash bros mod, randomizer, tf2ware, harbl hotel and just general pubbing.

Tf2 is also the only game that I adore on a mechanical level, and because that carries into every aspect of what I can do in the game it's just another reason for me to want to play it over whatever else is in my library.

i think it is because you like the idea of playing with others as if it was a basketball game. No one wants to play alone when they can be enjoying something with others. It's pretty natural and a lot of people experience it. When you burn out from tf2 (happens a lot) you will find time to play the other games you own. It might help to talk to others in mumble or w/e while playing those types of games.

Maybe it's just me being older, but I still enjoy single player games. I grew up playing them, and I was there for the birth of online gaming. While I did get started with competitive gaming in its infancy (14.4 dial up AOL connection ftw) I've always been able to enjoy a good SP game.

These days the game has to be REALLY good to hold my attention. Great gameplay (portal), an interesting story/setting (the stalker series), great writing (the walking dead series by telltale), a throwback to my youth (shadow warrior), or just something all around incredible (half-life). The other games out there don't really interest me as much as they did before I got seriously involved with TF2, but the exceptional ones still do.

Since my team died earlier this season I've been looking for a good SP game. Haven't launched TF2 in like 3 weeks. Come on wolfenstein!

I want to keep improving at tf2, and i have fun while doing so. Whenever I play single player games it feels like a waste of time because there's nothing to strive for. (most sp games are ridiculously easy). On occasion however a good story will pull me in. Most of my non tf2 gaming is rpgs these days.
