#20 CPU-Intergrated Graphics in TF2? in Hardware

When people talk about their fps on laptop, it's basically pointless as the low fps is due to the weak processor itself. Really as you can see above, especially on maxframes, video isn't the issue for tf2. Having a good processor with almost any integrated should be fine.

Makes me wonder why I bothered with a graphics card when 99% of the time I play tf2...

#7 Random Ping Spikes in Q/A Help
Arietornados2111Also a bit confused with what it says here, in the description "*NOTE* - the two adapters need to be placed in the same electrical circle and not plug them into an extension lead." This happens to be slightly inconvenient for me, but I really can't tell why this is important. It will still get the power it needs, why does it need to be actually plugged into a wall. Just seems strange....
Because it uses the power lines for network connectivity. Works best if it doesn't need to cross breaker switches and such.

WiFi, especially the normal 2.4ghz type, is never going to be really reliable in terms of latency. There's too few channels, too many sources of interference and with multiple clients on the same network you'll get random delays.
If you have no other option than WiFi, get a router that has 5ghz support and only use the 5ghz for gaming.

So you're saying that a 5ghz router is a better buy than the linked tp-link solution?
Any recommendations for specific routers?

gardenI would try totally quitting the torrent client and see if that helps. Makes no sense, but may make a difference.

If using a wire is too complex or inconvenient, this is an elegant solution. Often go on sale and only cap around 200mbps so you should be fine.

EDIT: welp I can't read

Anyway, why are you recommending this? Does this really improve the internet? any experience with it?

Definitely a good idea to do some jump maps. It actually won't let you continue without doing the jump properly ie. without pressing W. It can be a real good way to just drop that habbit

Played this for about an hour. Overall, a really fun compilation. Would like to see a points system so that people can rank themselves on how often they fall into lava :D Would be fun though. That will allow for people to get really competitive and I am looking forward to seeing how insanely good some people will get at this.
Thanks for making this, really had fun playing

Not liking this. The vision for the core gaming audience will probably be compromised. Facebook is just interested in the short cheap games that make the moneys

#6 Eye strain with current monitor: replace? in Hardware

I know a lot of people will disagree with me but if you're really that desperate, you could go find a crt somewhere. Yes, I know it causes eyestrain too, but if you overclock it to maybe 80hz, which most will (although possibly slightly lower res). Anyways, try find one for the time being while you save up for a 120hz. If you can't find a temporary crt, there's second hand websites where I'm sure you can find one for 5 bucks. It'll take a lot of space but it'll give a good experience while being super cheap while you save up. It's also a thousand times better than a tv

#12 mushy mouse click after time in Hardware

Actually I got my evo in August too. I do play a good bit of tf2, about 20-30 hours every 2 weeks but I don't really have this. Perhaps mouse 1 is very slightly more mushy than mouse 2, but it's difficult to even notice it and I don't think this is your case either way. Dunno, I guess some of it is how much you play and the rest is luck

#6 i keep dropping frames in Q/A Help
kirbyI get this issue any time I play the game as well. ~250/300 FPS with nothing happening, ~150 in fights. Frequently enough to be annoying, it will drop down to around ~65 for about a minute or so. I have an AMD GPU however. This has been a problem for I want to say around 1 year and a few months.

What cpu do you have? it's possible that it's just not enough processing power since tf2 is so cpu heavy

#9 Terrible microphone feedback in Hardware

Thanks for the help guys. I've tried testing some settings in teamspeak and I noticed that if I begin a test for my microphone, it starts off with almost no noise. Once I begin to speak the noise gets louder. Once I speak very loudly, the noise gets extremely loud, but actually won't go back down again. Once it reaches some point, the sound will remain that loud.

Closing realtek HD audio does not fix it so I assume it's some settings in windows or as you guys are saying, a problem with my onboard audio... not sure

toothAre you plugging your mic into the port on the front panel of your computer? If so, try plugging it into the back directly on the motherboard. Cases often have awful awful quality cables with no shielding for the front panel connections. This applies for headphones as well.

Yes, it's connected to the back. I believe it could be some software setting because people are telling me that at some stage my audio sounded fine, but the noise is absolutely terrible now

MasterKuniGet a sound card dude. Onboard audio is total garbage and probably introducing all sorts of noise.

Other people I hear sound fine but have no sound cards. I guess it's worth trying to see..

#1 Terrible microphone feedback in Hardware

Microphone feedback. I'm getting terrible microphone feedback. Everyone I talk to complains that there is a lot of noise or background noise. I use realtek HD audio codec. I've been searching for hours on how to fix this. It's not a mic problem since I have tried different ones, and mics that are confirmed to work well but the problem is still there only on my computer. I have an asus motherboard with onboard audio called asus p8z77. Any help appreciated, maybe some of you guys had this problem before

#9 Hijacked steam account panic in TF2 General Discussion
KAMOSteamGuard will recognize that the account is being logged into on a new computer and will disable trading for 7 days.

Does this apply for steam gifts? I had a couple of games in my item inventory
