#308 PC Build Thread in Hardware

In other games as well, and sometimes just in general use. The CPU is pretty much the only thing I haven't replaced in this comp (it came with int. graphics and all that).

I messed around a LOT with drivers some time ago. I've reinstalled them several times and I don't know if that means I messed them up big time or if they're doing fine now.

#306 PC Build Thread in Hardware

I guess this technically isn't a new build but i'd rather post here than start a new thread.

This is my current build:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i3-3220 3.3GHz Dual-Core Processor ($118.93 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Hitachi Deskstar 320GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($67.95 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock H61M-HVS
Memory: 6GB DDR3
Video Card: VisionTek Radeon HD 6770 1GB Video Card ($126.13 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($59.99 @ Amazon)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (OEM) (64-bit) ($97.46 @ OutletPC)
Total: $470.46
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-11-23 12:37 EST-0500

(filled in with stuff that I either couldn't remember or was not on PCPartPicker)

So with this build I've been getting massive stuttering issues, as well when I alt tab sometimes my peripherals will freeze and i'll be unable to do anything for 5-20 seconds.

With Christmas around the corner, what can I replace on this build? (I've already replaced the motherboard (with another of the same type from the manufacturer) and the psu.) Or is it just a lost cause and I should save up to get a whole new build?

Unfortunately not. At least not an easy one because I have no access to a mac. Such is the curse of Macintosh :(

Those crosses look to be in exactly the same place. It seems like the numbers are misaligned, because they should be closer to the middle of the black targetID bg instead of being stuck near the top.

Here, I made a bad mspaint mockup of it:

The numbers are sticking to the top of the boundary rather than floating in the center of the black boundary.

Are you sure they were different or did they just look different? Sometimes if you look at something with a double-digit value and one with a triple-digit value they can look weird.

Can you get a screenshot of the overheal value?

The overheal and hurt effects are monitored by the same value, and everything seems fine on my version. That looks more like the number itself is incorrectly aligned (which would be due to your resolution/OS most likely).

I also just did a quickdiff and there were no differences between my local file and red or blue's github files.

#12 The Peripheral/Hardware/Monitor Sales Thread in Hardware

I've never really used a mechanical keyboard and I've been using the relatively flat keys of the Microsoft Sidewinder for a while now. I was thinking of getting the Poker II during the drop but I'm not sure about dropping 100 bucks on a keyboard I might have trouble typing on.

Has anyone made the transition from the Sidewinder to a mechanical keyboard? I feel like the raised keys would throw me off a bit because I tend to glide across the keyboard very close to the keys.

Was messing around with bladehud and made this scoreboard along with a couple other edits. Feels kinda weird though.

I tried messing around with that a long time ago and absolutely hated how much I had to add to make it work and I never got it to work anyway because I'm not very good with hudanimations.
