Well, after that the install went through, but of course the driver didn't actually install. Still on the base microsoft driver.

Progress.

Completely uninstalled everything using CCleaner. Restarted. Currently installing 13.12.
...and now it's hanging on installing the Catalyst Install Manager.

edit: completely uninstalled the driver with DDU. Going for the reinstall.

Well, I managed to kill the process and thought I'd just try to install 13.12 again but now it's hung on "enumerating source media for installable packages".

All right. God damnit. Uninstalled everything through 13.12 uninstaller and now it won't even detect having to install the actual display driver. I even went to device manager and completely uninstalled the card and it still won't show up. The uninstaller is telling me that there's nothing to uninstall and the installer says that there's nothing to install.

14.4 is installed. It seems like the colors are slightly different, but I'm testing performance now.

Yeah, the contrast seems a bit higher. And my fps was a lot more variable on 14.4 (and generally worse). Gonna try to look for 14.12, but if not 13.12 has been working fine for me.

...and now the uninstaller is stuck.

This is why I don't like messing with drivers.
It won't even let me kill the uninstaller through task manager (although that's probably a bad idea).

Well, I went ahead and installed 15.7.1 but it didn't change anything. My driver version is still 13.12. I don't know if I have to restart but I've installed drivers before and it didn't even flicker the screen or anything.

I did do custom install to get rid of the AMD Gaming Evolved app but that's all I unchecked.

It tells me that 13.12 is the most updated version of my driver (which obviously isn't true)

I'm gonna go ahead and try 14.12 then.
(Or should I try 14.4? that's the most recent version according to AMD's manual-selection page)

Because I'm a stubborn person who's paranoid about installing new OS's.

So what version should I DL if it only has 8.1/7/10? I would assume 8.1.

I can't quite remember, it was a bit of time ago.

Gonna try 15.7.1, then 14.12.

Edit: 15.7.1 doesn't say it's compatible with win8 (just win8.1). When I do the "driver search" the best result I get is 14.4.

As well, CP points aren't something I've really messed with (at least in regards to positioning). I'd bet there's something in hudlayout.res that changes their positioning.

The compasses are kind of weird. I think you have to, like, resize them in order to move them or something? Also, there's some stuff in flagstatus.res that might help? It's been a while since I messed with it.

Also, I deleted the tf_english files in the github repo some time ago so if you update you should be fine.
