#12 TFTV Melee Tourney #2: This One's For Real in Other Games

It's more for the people sacrificing 5 hours of their day to run camera and cast than for me.

Although you do have a point (and this wasn't really originally my idea). I may change that after I talk to the people I want to do casting/camming for.

#12 Should I get a new HDD? in Hardware

Yeah, and it's used, and I've had it for 2 years. I should probably swap it out (although it's weird that stuttering and the like would happen when I changed OSs).

What'd you recommend for a good Radeon card in like the 100 dollar range? I'm not looking to go too overboard because my 6770 does give me some good FPS and I don't play crazy intensive games

#10 Should I get a new HDD? in Hardware

My mobo is like 2 years maybe? I replaced it some time back and that didn't help.

Here's my current setup. The only other thing I can think of would be my mobo bottlenecking me or something with my graphics card (since I believe it was used when I got it). The reason I thought my HDD had something to do with it is because this started happening when I reverted to windows 7 and got worse every time I changed OS's or reformatted.

OS - Win8
CPU - i5-3570k
RAM - 6gb
Mobo - ASRock H61M-HVS
GPU - AMD Radeon 6770
HDD - 500gb Hitachi HDS721050DLE630

And I guess stuttering isn't exactly what I mean, just...not smooth. It feels like I'm playing with 40fps when I'm getting 100-140.

http://challonge.com/tftvmelee2

Rules:
-Smashboards ruleset (http://smashboards.com/rulesets/melee/) except for one thing. Obviously because we can't do RPS online, lower seed strikes first.
-Use Dolphin 7840
-Double elim
-BO3 throughout, BO5 semi/finals (winner gets 1BO5 advantage in GFs)
-Forfeit rule: 10+ minutes late to your game is an automatic FFL (with exceptions due to extenuating circumstances, discuss with me beforehand)
-In case of unplayable lag/inability to connect, players can agree to play on another Dolphin version. If lag is unplayable the lagging person reserves the right to forfeit the game. If necessary, a TO will intervene and decide to forfeit the lagging player.
-Instead of a steam group, we'll be using a mumble to keep everyone together and easily accessible. Bookmark this mumble and join up on the tourney day!

Mumble info:
chi4.tragicservers.com 64874

Sign up below. Include your alias and your closest region (west coast or east coast), then add me to pay your entry fee. Your entry isn't confirmed until you pay! We're going to try to balance out the bracket so that people get better ping matchups, at least in the first rounds.

#4 Should I get a new HDD? in Hardware

How would I set that up? Just install my OS/tf2 onto the SSD drive and set everything else up on C:/ (i'd assume HDD would be C:/ and SSD would be D:/)?

#1 Should I get a new HDD? in Hardware

So my HDD is turning four years old soon. It's been through a lot; reverting OS's twice, DBANning it once, and three reformats. I've been having some problems for a while with stuttering, screen tearing, and just general slowness with my computer. It isn't exactly new, but I've replaced nearly every part on it besides the HDD and nothing has really helped. Looking at the raw parts it should run TF2 totally fine.

Would getting a new HDD fix this?

just the values with no commas or the rgb ().

So 240 60 60 255 (rgba)

The first one has been fixed in a patch that was like a week ago.

You have to change the second value of DamagedPlayer in hudanimations_tf.txt inside scripts (I assume you're trying to make a blinking xhair). If not then I wouldn't have an idea of what's happening.
