I heard last season that some people managed to play matches without client, since the server doesn't have a way of ensuring the client is open. In the case of using non-league servers, or even league servers, is there a way of ensuring only paid players enter the server? Do we have to cross reference steam-IDs like UGC?

I know ESEA did, but CEVO did as well (might have been S2), except CEVO was actually helpful in fixing it and allowing rescheduling.

The reason CEVO has never had much interest is because they have had problem after problem every season.
CEVO had a client problem for like the first week of matches ever and that's it that I've heard of. At least one person in ESEA will get fucked by client each week.

SideshowSorry I maybe misunderstood then, I'm not familiar with the ESEA seasons, is there another one before i52? Even if there is, a fundraiser would have to be started pretty soon, you couldn't wait til the end of that season.
The next ESEA season should finish about 5 months from now.
