MR_SLINThat's not true Tmbr, as a person who participated in the matchmaking beta I can confidently say that a lot of the feedback went back into the game. For example, we asked them to limit ping.
They implemented this on December 21, 2016:ValvePlayers can now set their maximum acceptable ping by clicking the new gear icon in the top right of the Casual and Competitive matchmaking lobby screens and choosing "Ping Settings".
It took forever and a half, but it happened. Again, I vote for slow and not uncaring. If we as a community decide that Valve is moving too slowly with their balance updates (when they've already promised to rework heavy and pyro) and if we decide that we can't wait any longer, then fine. But I believe that they're caring and most people are just ignoring the writing on the wall.
Is it really that worth it though to cater to Valve if they don't make these changes until we complain? I mean, I get that they changed things we asked them to, but was that not what the Beta was for? It took a full year for them to add that since the beta, and was that not one of the Beta complaints?

MR_SLINsaamThere is absolutely no proof Valve cares about what we think.I see where you're at with this but I'd like to counter with the following:
- A team of competitive TF2 players went to Valve's headquarters and confirmed Valve is creating a 6v6 matchmaking system
- They created that system and then asked competitive players to join as part of a beta test
- They then launched the system and have continued to make changes that are in line with competitive play.
I'm not going to say that they care about what we think, since they might have done all of that stuff on their own without us, but I mean... absolutely no proof? Come on now. I know everyone didn't meet the developers and it's sort of your word versus ours but... no proof at all?
But they did nothing with the beta testing at all. All they did on release was give it a new look. It wasn't until reddit, whose opinions they seem to value more, started bitching and moaning that changes came, and even then it wasn't fixed for a long time, and STILL isn't fixed. I don't think that any of that proves that they care about us.

Hey everyone, after reading the threads about Gravelpit and Attack/Defense maps, I was just curious about how everyone felt about King of the Hill. Do you like the gamemode, but not Viaduct? Do you think Bagel would be a good edition? Do we need more or just zero koth maps in the rotation? I just want a general consensus on what people want from the gamemode, as I'm getting into mapping and thinking about creating some koth maps for 6s.

Philosophical Question About Whitelists/Blacklists

As a newer competitive player this stuff is so overwhelming. I feel I'm too late to competitive to have any fun in it like any of the veterans here have. I, even with my little experience, have way less fun in games with items like the rescue ranger. When I started to get into competitive I was readily willing to give up the classes or weapons that I liked using to be apart of what looked like this fast-paced action-packed blast that I saw at the Dreamhacks and Insomnias. But Valve doesn't cater to people like that, they want pyro mains and engy mains in pubs to be happier than the toptier players. Nothing is going anywhere with Valve, so b4nny needs to stop sucking them off and focus on making the game fun. I know I'm new and my opinion might not mean that much, but it seems like nobody's happy with this game right now, and I want to be apart of a community where we can sustain ourselves and be happy no matter what the devs do. This doesn't seem to be the case, and I its upsetting I might never truly get to play those fast-paced games I used to watch.
