#118 Pyro in TF2 General Discussion

#119 I wasn't speaking strictly in terms of pyro i just thought it was an interesting concept. I do believe that a lot of this games balancing is done with team fights in mind, and 1v1's aren't what this game is balanced around. Yet even in 6's or HL, 1v1's can be completely game changing.

And is demo the best fragging class?(I'm actually curious about this.) he's most likely the most damaging class, but in terms of actual frags, and such scouts seem to get a lot of frags in both HL and 6's.

mustardoverlordstill haven't answered my point

HOW IS IT AN UTTER DENIAL IF IT ONLY WORKS IN 1V1S

tf2 was never designed around 1v1s

1v1s don't really dictate the balance of anything

that's actually an interesting concept in terms of game balance/design. But isn't demoman's "downside" the fact that in 1v1's and close range fights he is at a disadvantage?

And while 1v1's aren't the most important skill to have by any means they still can be completely game changing.

BlackDynamiteThomas is a moron. Take that into account whenever he says or posts anything. Also he doesnt really play TF2 as much as he uses the community as a social outlet who likes to stir up drama. He is like a Snooki of comp TF2.

Ouch that's not a very polite way to argue with someone. As for not playing tf2 i play like 30-40 hours a week, and clock way to much time in MGE(though MGE is more so just for fun).

And i don't use this as a social outlet at all, in 2 years now i have 32 posts between the two comp community sites and a total of like 6-9 "controversial" posts.

And @Enigma i don't know maybe expectations are to high. I have no idea as for personal experience on cp_process yesterday when I played vs you, we more then likely could of rolled your team pretty quickly 4-5 times in a row, we instead started off classing, and messing around. Doing stuff like pushing a heavy out of last to try and fist your medic, going engi to build a level three on offense, hell at the end i got off of demo to play spy, because it had basically become a lobby.

cinqThomasduhtrainApparently #tf2mix is a complete shit fest as of late? ... I played like 4 of them yesterday just to seeCinq's reply

I'm not talking about myself, i personally don't pug that much aside from private pugs with friends. Outside of my own experience, the rest of my opinion is based, off of responses from newbie mix players. Vick said that pug channel was quite good when he played in it(hence the as of late part). Yeah i'm guessing a lot of it has to do with lobby players, but I was more so responding to the fact that people are sending new players that are trying to learn the game into #tf2mix, when it's a toss up as to whether it'll be a good game or basically a lobby.

I'm talking about #tf2mix, which Vick and BD have been telling admins to send the newbie mix players to. I don't know if #tf2mix is just bad because tf2lobby recently went down, or if it was always that way, but i definitely wouldn't recommend new players who are trying to learn, to play #tf2mix in its current state.

Apparently #tf2mix is a complete shit fest as of late? The players in the newbie mix were talking about playing against basically full time pyros. Literally getting spawn camped for 15+ minutes when the other team could of clearly capped and won the game. On top of that apparently players just go mute for whole matches, not talking which generally implies they're fucking around.

I played like 4 of them yesterday just to see, and one of them was alright, the other one enigma's team got rolled badly on process and our pocket randomly off classed spy, and our scouts would change randomly. Then gullywash was just a shit fest where when it was 4-0 the enemy team just never capped last, they'd fight us win, then just back up to second and fuck around with off classes again. Hence why newbie mix players are making their own pug groups(http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tf2newbiepugs) or just going into the newbie mix mumble and playing un officials.

#38 newbie mixes tonight at 8 EST in TF2 General Discussion
BlackDynamiteI called out one guy and that one guy turned out to be bambam on one of his aliases so draw your own conclusion.

I thought it was bambam's account but a different IP? On top of that didn't he show a transaction for him buying bam bam's account? Even then he's apparently creating a new account just to avoid trouble.

I honestly don't know him that much, but i know he has like hundreds of MGE matches, and who the hell hacks THAT much consistently in MGE, and still doesn't develop enough talent to out frag me(at best like a UGC steel scout) with hacks, while clearly trying to out do me(ask the other newbie's in mumble he was trying the whole game to out frag me.).

I don't know maybe he was trigger botting, i'd like to believe he wasn't since he was honestly a nice guy, and with what little experience i have with BD he has accused like 8+ players of hacking, and is pretty damn convinced Soup is/was hacking as well.

Man Newbie mix Drama 2012, BD calling people hackers(when the "hacker" is getting out fragged by 4 people) Euphy and Salty Sally getting not so happy with each other. Vile, just being real strange in mumble. People speaking/complaining about how some ISP's monitor for child porn.

Thanks for the response WONKO, I'll try to inform them to give more reasoning to their calls(if time is permitting, since if they're trying to abuse a 10 second window spending 7 seconds half playing half explaining, isn't very productive.)

As for them not being pleasant I'm not sure... Eldritch is a very nice guy(IMO). You have to give them a bit of a break when testosterone is pumping and you're in the game people may get quite a bit vocal, and they might of had to yell to be heard over other teammates or to keep everyone in line as to what the team is doing.

But i wasn't there, so i really can't say what may of caused such actions or comments from them.

EDIT it originally looked like i was saying Eldritch might not be nice.

I don't think Eupphy was being complained about, and i don't think he got to play a lot i personally loaded up every other coach i possibly could before putting him in there.(he eventually just went and played Dota because he never got to play.)

As for the complaints it's kind of hard to be sure it may have been about me; because, i let some of the teams do their own calling(because they need to learn it eventually, and they sure as hell won't get the chance in #mix) and it some times leads to a mess up in comms, and a demo getting swallowed at choke when he would of been just fine.

If we the admins had to set up the teams for a newbie mix tourny, it would be more balanced, but it would be take a while to organize since not all of our players speak english, and gauging their skill isn't exactly easy. Some players are basically low open DM, with no game sense, and others are just completely new.

Or if we let them break off into their own groups we could probably set it up rather easily, I've been keeping tabs on the teams that are being created out of the newbie mix, so far we have like 3 and a third teams created, but the problem is one team can basically jump into UGC steel, they pugs basically every night, and have been scrimming. Where as the other two are just more so groups of friends i believe.

Newbie Mixes are tonight at like 8est, maybe a bit earlier depending on if people just randomly show up early btw.

The NA newbie mix group has basically 2.5k followers, and grows quite consistently every Saturday.(no idea why it's Saturday's and not Sunday) I'm sure extv could harvest at least a few followers from there. And watching matches can be good for newbie players as well.
