wareyaAnother way to keep smurfs from "wasting" beta slots is to use a better heuristic for smurfs. People can have multiple phones, easily. But they wouldn't spend hundreds of dollars on multiple accounts. If they also prioritized people who have a lot of value in their steam account, it would still work. In fact, that's probably what they would have thought of if they didn't have two factor authentication.
Prioritizing people based on their economic status.... this is very american I like this.

but seriously why are blues and ex far and beyond the sexiest scout combo in tf2???
whymeoidk about blasty blast though, I might be overestimating how hard knuckles can carry
tbh sunshine is probably gonna be awful. Lot of new people to the map and it's making it rough for coordination. Just don't expect much out of our two hardest matches on our worst map so far :P
I'm proud of our teams success so far this season. We've got a really diverse group experience-wise and its been fun so far. Our matches against Yompies and Yugioh this week will be a challenge but I hope we can at least make them close.
btw who is garbagejuice
saamaim-i thought people hated the cozy camper cause you were never aim punched. am i missing something?
That's why I'd like more explosive damage so you can't just stand in spam for three seconds and not care about it but it still has the defining aspect.
It is broken right now I agree. I just think that people will be irritated by no aim punch no matter what. Maybe looking at a mechanic that relies on being charged to a certain percentage in order for that to activate? So at, say 25% charge, you no longer take aim punch?
Frost_BiteWould also like to see a nerf to the cozy camper since it is the best sniper secondary in 6s since hitscan spam won't stop you from getting a pick.
Cozy camper has gone through like 5 different mechanics changes and this is the first one that is actually useable. I can understand thinking it's too good as it is right now, but the solution is not to remove the view steady. That mechanic is the only thing that makes it different than any other secondary. You can remove the health benefit but that doesn't fix what you see as the problem so there isn't any point.
why do people get excited about every little maybe hint that match making might get possibly released.
Valve isn't stupid. They're gonna build hype. Also, they haven't even done the public beta that everyone is expecting. We will all know about matchmaking's official release at least a week before we have to pay $5 for it.
bl4nkThe store that's a 4 minute walk from my house had 6 cases during that whole outbreak and was closed for awhile.
So what you're saying is a free burrito is a free burrito and you're risking it, right?
(First all credit for seeing this goes to Joshuawn)

futurefatswimdudesays the nerd with his own friggin tumblr directly linked to his steam pagefatswimdudefuture why everything gotta be about you man
alright fatswim and I might have had beef in the past but this is still the weakest shit I've ever seen.
Dude, stop posting, you clearly need to sort some other things in your life out before you're ready for a video games forum.
samifaceit's cool, i got a captaining permaban for forgetting to pick a medic.
edit: i'm also never allowed to apply as a sub. not sure how/why that's related ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
no you got banned cause you picked a team and then didn't show up.
doesn't help that you complained about never getting picked hours before.
flameyou can do like slot10 in console for the quickswitch menu but its too big and theres too much weapon detail to make it worth using at the moment.
When Joshuawn released his Weapon Specific Crosshairs I was also working through those ctx files to see if anything else could be changed (I was working on weapon specific crosshairs for a while and Josh did it in 5 minutes I'm not salty). So basically within these same files there is a section that looks like this:
"weapon"
{
"file" "sprites/bucket_rl"
"x" "0"
"y" "0"
"width" "200"
"height" "128"
}
"weapon_s"
{
"file" "sprites/bucket_rl"
"x" "0"
"y" "0"
"width" "200"
"height" "128"
}Through the same method used for weapon specific crosshairs you can change the sprite used with the "Slow Weapon Switch." Now, Flame you're the HUD expert so you'd know better than I would how easy the backgrounds and text are to edit. But by changing these files you could very easily change what image is used within those backgrounds. Do with this information what you will, but it opens yet another possibility with these files (and another reason for Valve to block these files within pure, please don't let them know!)
Shun[What tools have you used to test things? It's been a while since I've tested network connections with traceroutes but running a tool like this throughout a day could show interesting things: https://www.pingplotter.com/download.html
More simply, if you're noticing severe lag at night, run a ping test to anywhere in command prompt with ping <server> /t which will run the ping continuously. Make a friend in your dorm and try that on their computer while you're seeing lag. If they see it too, it's campus network related, not you. You could also try running pings from campus computers.
dollarlayerI know you mentioned CMD pinging not working and being blocked, but you could try other methods as well or use a VPN to do the pings.
I would try running a free program called WinMTR. It basically acts like a continuous ping tool, and can be set to basically do 100's or thousands of trace routes. You can pick an IP such as a TF2 server IP that you game on sometimes. It will tell you the average latency of each hop, including the hopes on your local network. Then you can maybe identify if there are any specific hops that seem to be problematic, and trouble shoot the issue further.
I'm willing to try more, just let me know. Would a VPN allow me to run pingplotter (or WinMTR)? My only fear with any VPN usage for testing is the inevitable "You clearly aren't having any issues as we discussed earlier, but the VPN you are using is now causing your lag and instability"
edit: any traceroutes I run have to be run through their website.
