R5 3600 + 5700XT - how to run game smoothly?

Hi, does anyone have this combination? I know TF2 is an ancient game that runs horribly on modern hardware, but there must be some way to get it to run smoothly? I've tried multiple mastercomfig presets and nothing seems to stop the frequent FPS drops to about 180. The input lag is real and it's just horrible to play. I'm guessing it's the GPU, as it wasn't as noticeable before with the older and worse GPUs I played on. I'd appreciate some advice, thanks in advance.

it depends where u are playing but having a gpu like this shouldnt really effect anything u will find u are bottlenecking ur shit with something like that - its the processors fault

any setups gonna drop to like 180 in some places

Make sure you have all these settings disabled.

Yeah, I've done all that. Some games it's great. Resident Evil 2/3 Remakes run like butter, for example.

I just wanted to know if anyone had a detailed technical response as to why the game runs like shit on this decent hardware.

This game runs like shit on ALL hardware. It only scales to 3 threads (and not even particularly well) and doesn't scale at all beyond that.
