Im bumping because I'm basically at the point where I'm just going to quit tf2 because its so unfun to play with this. Ive tried everything people have said in this thread except for putting my mouse settings in my autoexec because I can't find what I'd have to put for that, so if someone can tell me I'd appreciate it. Aside from that, I've reinstalled the game, windows, fixed an fps problem I thought it could've been, I tested different mice, I've tested different games and its fine. So yeah, I have no idea, if anyone has any other ideas thanks.

Cyzer has his settings in autoexe and so you can just go and install just his autoexe onto your team fortress 2 and change the settings you want in there. http://www.twitch.tv/cyzer/old just select his hud/cfg after scrolling down and it will open a zip file. Delete your autoexe and place his in and change the settings at the end of the autoexe. Hope that it will help you. Remove what you don't want and keep what you do want. Or just use his as an example and copy and paste from his what you want. But for simplicity I would just take his and edit it from there.

I suggest formatting your PC and doing a fresh install of windows. Install nothing besides TF2 (and steam obviously) and try if the issue persists. If it still persists, it should be either the mouse itself or the mousepad. Alternatively try to use the mouse at a friends / or any other PC.

Does it only happen while in TF2? In any other games or the OS itself?

It would be pretty odd that you put something in your config that does this by accident. But if you want you can upload your config and I or someone else will look over it.

Cheers

By default, your autoexec should be: C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/ma3laa/team fortress 2/tf/cfg/autoexec.cfg. If it doesn't already exist, create one. If it's not a hardware issue, either putting mouse settings in your autoexec, disabling Steam Cloud, or doing a full format should fix everything.

Try using your mouse on another computer that has tf2 installed on it? I've heard there are problems with sensors that could cause stuff like that.

how long does the sens change? is it fluctuating on a scale or is it two distinct senses that switch on and off?

if you have a way to measure the difference it makes it easy to not think youre just crazy

at this point if youre absolutely sure you should be testing on a dif account on a dif computer with a dif mouse. if nothings wrong there then swap your mouse, if thats alright go on your account...

I use to have a serious mouse lag problem a long time ago that had something to do with steam cloud conflictions, maybe this can help. That's also why I believe atmo's suggestion could work as well.
Also try turning off multi-core rendering if you haven't already.

The problem is I can't measure it because its accel, my sens if I move it slowly is usually still around the normal one I use (5.2" per 360), but when I'm playing and I move my mouse fast because all I do is flick it either goes way to far with accel, or it feels like negative accel is on and it doesnt go far at all.

Also I'm going to try that atmo, and I haven't tried turning off multicore rendering but I'll try that next.

WaterhogIf the in-game sensitivity is changing itself for some reason, you could try this in a config:
bind mouse1 "+attack;sensitivity #"

my in game sens is 3.5 do I just put 3.5 for the #?

I have the Same mouse and the same exact problem. Just said to a friend of mine yesterday that i was about ready to delete the game cause its getting ridiculous. I have changed every setting possible with no luck at all, mouse sens seems to change on its own, sometimes too fast, sometimes too slow.

he already tried most of what you mentioned and several different mice. im guessing the different mice you used had different drivers? if not try different drivers. i mean if it works in other games then i have no idea why it won't work in tf2.. chances are a format wouldn't do anything. gl ma3laa i really hope you don't quit because of this problem :(

edit: did you try turning accel off to see if that fixes it? if that's the case then theres something wrong with your accel settings or something

I have already done a fresh format and reinstall of tf2 without steamcloud enabled, sens is still changing on its own, in game im at 3.20 with no mouse accel and rawinput set.
Using the deathadder 3.5 G. flick shots are either way too fast or too slow. game is almost unplayable at the moment.

I think I have a similar problem but I'm not certain. I too use accel but the Driver based one.

Does this problem only affect people with a Razer DeathAdder? Ma3laa uses one, cha0s uses one and I've found plenty of people with DeathAdder problems through google.

But I haven't found anything that was not suggested yet. It's highly suspicious to me, that the problem still persists after a fresh install. Since we can exclude that any other software fucked something up. (Besides the Razer Driver perhaps?)

Well, I don't remember if it was mentioned yet, but turning off Multicore-Rendering might be worth a shot. Also did you try a different USB-Port on your computer?

Cheers

It seems to happen for me as well, inexplicably and randomly. I have a g400, so I'd be skeptical as to blame his mouse alone

I dont use the razer drivers at all, they are garbage. This only happens when i play tf2. Goto RJ and sense when i flick slows down to almost 0.5 sense, it continues to almost seem like its negative accel problem. Turned off multicore render, installed windows accel fix, Tried different usb port, still no solution.

Razer's "On-The-Fly" sensitivity "technology"
http://www.razerzone.com/mouseguide/technology/18

You could possibly have that enabled.

I plugged my mouse into a different port, used the different death adder driver, turned off vsync, turned off multi core rendering, and I also stopped using mumble overlay and my frames are higher by literally 200 consistantly :| so yeah, problems fixed and im not terrible and mad anymore so thanks everyone :D

I'm actually having a similar problem to what darkstar mentioned. I recently got a new g400 sent to me by Logitech because my old g400's right click stopped working and ever since I got this new mouse I feel like I have accel on when I clearly don't. I checked all my in game sens settings, checked my windows sens settings, checked my Logitech Sofrtware's settings and everything is good. I use 800 dpi @ 1.5 in game and I have tried 3 different mousepads and it all feels the same. I did have to buy new mouse feet for my old g400 (puretrak) which probably made a difference but the thing is before I got those mouse feet my mouse felt normal (no accel) so I have no idea what is the problem. (I've tried the steelseries qck+, puretrak talent, & Razer Goliathus Speed).
