Windows 10 Optimizations?

Hello gamers,

I recently bit the bullet and updated from 7 to 10 since Microsoft is going to stop security updates early next year for 7. However, when I went to game down in some team fortress yesterday, I was getting some mad micro-stutters. From what I can tell it wasn't a framerate issue (everytime I was looking at the FPS counter it was between 150-300+) but it was happening pretty consistently. (I did have to install the game on my HDD instead of my SSD, but that shouldn't affect anything besides load time in theory, but, ya know...)

So basically what I'm asking is what are some good Windows 10 optimizations I can do to try and prevent performance loss when gaming competitively. I've only really disabled the fullscreen optimization option, and then tried disabling the steam overlay as well, but it didn't help too much.

If there's another thread that already has this stuff just link it and call me names for not searching hard enough.

Thank U :-)

you have to run any games in fullscreen mode (not windowed fullscreen) lest you will get input lag

i did a lot of stuff manually like disabling services, auto updates, programs launching on start-up, windows defender
i even use an Enterprise copy of windows that has a bunch of unnecessary windows features disabled by default

this, however https://jailbreakvideo.ru/Files/Win%2010%20Tweaker/Win%2010%20Tweaker.exe

is pretty fucking good, this is on my fresh install software list next to ccleaner and auslogics disk defrag
this app is all about tweaking, optimizing and managing win 10 and disabling features you dont need

now this does trigger chrome, windows defender and any antivirus you might have, but this hasnt stopped me from downloading and using it, or stops me from posting it here, at your own discretion

to accept the terms of use you need to right click on it, but i suggest reading them regardless(60 seconds)
