Hey,

I dont really have the time anymore to play tf2 due to my job so I was thinking about getting back into playing the guitar. However I'd like to start getting into playing bass as its something a little different.
I've played the guitar for like 15 years so I'm not a complete beginner.
Looking to spend around £300 but if the suggestions are in dollars I can easily convert the price.

Current equipment I have, dno if it helps but I guess it can give a little indication as to what I play:
Fender Telecaster American Standard
Gibson SG Special Faded
Epiphone Firebird Studio
Vox VT30
Boss GT6

Any suggestions?

What kind of frets / scales you like to use or what kind of music do you usually play? Or do they have any importance to you?

Play a lot of stuff by foo fighters, in flames, rhcp, joe satriani, lamb of god. Would just like an all around kind of bass dont really want to focus on one genre, essentially the stratocaster for bass. I know fender do the precision/jazz bass but would like something different.

HB 5 string
Ibanez 4 string
With a quick look those 2 came to my mind. Or if you're looking for some kind of bundle specifically, something like this https://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-dept/bass-guitars/eastcoast-gp200-black-bass-bundle-w-amp-and-accessories

I'm not an expert in any means, I have played bass roughly for 5 years, but I'm not that into for pedals, accessories etc.

Ibanez SR300E.
Only recommending from personal experience. 24 frets and a reliable bridge that's really easy to adjust intonation/string height. 230 quid well spent. Can also go for the SR305 or 306 (five and six string) for 300 quid or less

if you can, i'd recommend buying second hand. you can get a way better instrument for a lot less and generally people look after their instruments so there is a lot of very good condition stuff out there. if you're near manchester i'd have a look at this shop: http://ampguitars.com/ they don't often update their shop list online but they genrally post anything new they get on their twitter.
Personally I find that you can play any music on any type of guitar. model and make rarely really matter so the thing i look for in a guitar is how the thing feels and plays and you can only do that by actually going and trying it out.

Another +1 for Ibanez SR series basses. They're ridiculously light (~2.5kg at most), the necks are super comfortable, and the newer bridges make re-stringing very easy. The only drawback would be color selection, since Ibanez likes to pick and choose which model lines get specific colors (Like surreal burst being available on the SR655 but not the SR650, RIP).

The GSR200 is an entry level bass, but it may be a good jumping off point if you decide to check out the SR line.
