mge vs dm (aiming)

G'day!

I'm using both mge and DM to warm up before scrims and lately I've noticed that I flick-aim like crazy. I'm main scout but same happens when playing solly.
Now when I play DM I don't find it to be too annoying nor bad, though on mge especially against scouts that are a lot better the I am, I find myself messing up most of my shots due too flicking everywhere just not snapping on the target.
My sensitivity is 3 with 800dpi and raw input enabled.

Is this normal/good/bad?
Thanks for reading!

If you're missing it's bad.

hi goat :D i don't main scout but if you are flicking and missing take your time with your shots. practice and predict the enemy's movement. Don't flick randomly. hitting 2 out of 6 shots for 40 damage is worse than only shooting 3 or 4 and hitting good damage each one.

Use mike's theory of big dick aiming

Confidence is as good as skill

flick-aiming is not bad, nor is any other type of aiming. If you can't hit your shots you should realize why you are missing (ie. flicking everywhere) and improve on it (ie. snapping on the target).

zigzterIf you're missing it's bad.

The thing is that I only miss a lot of shots on mge or 1v1 with scouts.
In scrims I'm hitting enough shots to finish enemies off, same for dm.

if that's the problem, don't worry about it. MGE is to help you aim and people do a lot of unnecessary things like counter-jumping that you wouldn't see in scrims.

As I responded to #2 only happens against scouts that are a lot better then me and in 1v1 thanks for the input though.

I don't flick on targets once in a straight up 1v1 I.e. in pa nice. What are ways improve on my flick aiming? Most of my flick aiming is more situational and caused by reaction and not really planned if you understand what I mean :/

well, what works for me is tracking the target so when I do flick, it's not some deranged 90 degree turn. but like I've said, 1v1 is a bad habit as then you are just relying on DM instead of teamwork.

I did not ask on how to get better at aiming. I know that you need practice for anything.
I've asked since I do not want to develop a bad habit by flicking too much.

Will try to track enemies more and to calm down while aiming and not just flicking in panic, thanks for the input burton!

bl4nkbsc hit the mark. second thing i've ever plus fragged in my life.

Does bsc mean basicly?
I guess that is the same point as tracking more and less flicking.

mghughlauriethis is why i don't mge as scout

I'm trying out for teams atm and I just need a way to practice my 1v1 since I don't have seasons of experience too shiny I need to rely on my 1v1 skills etc.
In dm I have the problem that there is more flanking etc then straight up 1v1 or just even fights.

you should do what works

if your natural tendency is to flick and youre hitting the shot, whats the problem?

you dont lose points for not having your dot on the dude's belly in between shots

if youre flicking and missing, stop flicking

if you need to "rely on 1 v 1s" you're playing 6s wrong and really shouldn't be brought upon the opportunity of having to take 1 v 1s if you're teams smart at all.

unless you're just that confident that you'll win 100% of 1 v 1s, which really shouldn't happen

Noticed that I didn't put it really clear, meant that I'm yet not good enough too outplay enemies with the help of my team, since I've played without a real team most of the time. I also meant relying on 1v1 as in relying on your aim to finish them off, you often do run into a scout and have to face him off, that's where I shine atm, same as hunting down and finishing off hurt players or protecting my med and demo.
