I've been getting random drops to under 60 fps with an i5-4460 and a gtx970. It just seems like the tf2 dev team completely fucked performance with the pyro update. :/

I have your same graphics card and a worse processor and I don't have framerate problems. Don't blame the TF2 team.

I'm aware but my point is if we have almost identical hardware how would it affect only one of us?

My performance hasn't really changed. Running 500+fps in offline, 200+ in 6s and ~150 in pubs with a GTX 1060 and i7 6700k with cowmanglia's dx9 config.

Did you make any changes to program settings and/or installed anything since the update that could be affecting performance?
If anything else fails you can try using different configs and look up tutorials to increase FPS in games.

Edit: also look at your CPU and GPU core temps, maybe they are thermal throttling for whatever reason?

AMD pre-ryzen isn't any good in valve games thats your main bottleneck

tnmDoes anybody else freeze completely after pressing Quit button?

sometimes yes. For my understanding it is hud related, what hud do you use?

I have an i7-6700, and a 960M and I get around 500-700 fps when I play alone running tf2, and I get 200-300 fps when I'm playing casual or community servers with comanglia's cinema config. This is just for me though

I was using old Broesel and PV from Hypnotize. It happens on default hud aswell.

Yes. Usually the freezing goes on for half a minute then TF2 finally quits. Other times it's been 10 minutes and TF2 is still frozen so I have to restart my computer.

I use Default Minimal so it likely is not related to a custom HUD.
