Hey, I've got some questions and i think here is the right place to ask them:
1. I'm playing TF2 on a laptop (y510p if it matters) and when im playing it with your config (with the maxframes config and fps capped to 121 it makes weird sounds from my laptop, when im using feliks's i get worse fps, but no sounds...

2. how exactly does the dx level override work?

sounds as in from the hardware or the speakers?

when the game launches, it checks the dxsupport file for information on certain settings. some of these settings are cheat cvars that cant be set in the console, but are set from the dxsupport file.

In the network section of the config, I don't see

 cl_lagcompensation

mentionned anywhere. Has this command become completly obselete ? Comanglia formerly set it to 1 fyi.
Same question for net_maxfilesize

cl_lagcompensation is 1 by default, and I haven't seen anyone disable it so there's no point in setting it.

net_maxfilesize is in the config https://github.com/mastercoms/tf2cfg/blob/master/mastercomfig/cfg/comfig.cfg#L84

FreudI'm on linux and have bad internet but a decent CPU. Should I be using net_queued_packet_thread 0?

Yes, Linux's network system isn't bad and doesn't require the additional queue. Most of it is already disabled for Linux users, but disabling it and adding the launch option will save memory and a little bit of CPU.

HoppsI think maxperformance.cfg is missing this: r_dopixelvisibility 0

r_dopixelvisibility does occlusion for glows, and building_cubemaps 1 removes most of the negative performance impact from enabling it, so I think it is a net positive.

This is purely dependent on your audio stack and hardware. If you get no crackling and similar glitches give it a shot.

Are you suggesting there are things I can do that would enable me to lower it further?

Yeah, a good starting point is to measure DPC latency to make sure it's not abnormally high. However, if you haven't noticed any issues such as audio crackling or mouse input misbehaving you probably don't have anything to worry about.

How to make that rescue ranger monitor and weapons visible while selecting class?

Sorry I missed this. Not sure, maybe mat_picmip 0 or r_rootlod 0. If not, I'll have to test.

4.5.5 released with better dxlevel control, improved comments/formatting and pyrovision optimizations.

ShemrHello mastercoms,
I seem to have huge fps drops when I uncomment "hud_autoreloadscript 1"

hud_autoreloadscript 1 reloads the animation script each time you run an animation, you probably don't want this enabled for normal play.

Well, it depends on your CPU, but usually balanced core usage uses less power so I would continue using mat_queue_mode 2.
