The 49's won two games last season. I doubt there is some miracle change that results in them being a good team just by Brian Hoyer becoming QB. He's pretty inconsistent, sometimes he's good, and sometimes he's a non-factor. Not even Kap at his very best would make too much of a difference. You have teams with 52 people, and while QB is important, you gotta have *something* else somewhere that would prevent such an abysmal performance.

Don't worry Viper, in 2014, as a joke, I made a bet that I would watch EVERY Browns game in their entirety, either live or post-record. I lost the bet and ended up having to live through that whole disaster step by step. They actually could've been a good team too is the really sad part of it all. Remember how they ABSOLUTELY slaughtered the Bengals and their entire crowd went home in the 3rd quarter and there were like 15 Browns fans just going crazy lol - + fun side note, that was the first time the Browns had moved into first place in their division in 20+ years. Or how every time Hoyer had an incomplete pass or even a moment's hesitation, the camera would *instantly* zoom in on Johnny Manziel and I died more and more each game. Or from the defense that was frankly great, that was then completely lost or traded off because the players knew the team was a joke and would never improve and thus went anywhere else. Or even Crowell stringing together some good games and "Feed the Crow!" chants.

But hey, today was par for the course for the Colts. I thought "hey maybe it's all coming together? The Cards are supposed to be kinda good right!?" and then everything in the 4th and OT happened.

Oh yeah for sure I never expected the 49er's to become a good team this season at all but today our defense+carlos hyde came up huge and our O line gave Hoyer tons of time but he didn't do anything so it was frustrating (especially considering how close the game was in the end).

i've got a bit of hope for the browns this season, deshone kizer still did work during his time at notre dame while playing second fiddle to malik zaire so i'm hoping time in the nfl gives him a chance to grow more and develop

of course i say that as deshone kizer came out of notre dame's worst season under brian kelly (4-8)

Five is bad but I mean... I guess people get really down on new QBs who have targeting problems, but the problem is there is MASSIVE culture shock essentially from being moved to the NFL - so I tend to r-e-l-a-x on it.

For perspective. http://www.nfl.com/player/peytonmanning/2501863/gamelogs?season=1998

Yeah, you read that right ol' Peyton threw more picks than TDs his rookie year. There was some panic about it, but they stayed the course and everything turned out fine.

i'm not gonna rag on deshone kizer for five turnovers, i was just making a bit of a joke to add on to what pr said

he's gonna be a bit shaky in his first few games, during his stint at notre dame he didn't really have an offensive line that could keep the pocket from collapsing around him, so he still makes a lot of hasty, college football-esque decisions which have resulted in a lot of turnovers

when he settles in with his offensive line and becomes more comfortable dropping back into the pocket and having time to assess the situation on the field i think he'll excel because the kid has a hell of an arm

What do you all think about the dumb take a knee thing?

Sure they are exercising their rights to do so, however, it's out of courtesy and respect to stand for the pledge and anthem to those who have, and are, fighting for your freedoms.

if people want to take a knee that's fine.
their reasons for doing it are retarded but its fine.

what gets me is when the broadcasters talk about it. i don't give a shit how many players are taking a knee.

people hear enough about politics throughout the week. i like football because it gives me a chance to watch sweaty, 300 pound men give each other brain-damage for 3 hours, not to think about anything political.
