I get that you don't like VNN or something but I don't see why Dave Riller literally saying shit that hasn't been confirmed before warrants a "No", but alright fam.

talk of ELO and placements is music to my ears, but it'll still be unfun to play if rebalancing isn't done right

Its nice to know that they actually care and want the best for the arguably small competitive community, its just a shame that theyre hindered by the fact that they have such a limited number of devs actually working on the game

"-New Comp ELO System
-Placement Matches"

This is fucking hilarious tbh, I mean everyone knew when it was in beta that it needed it, it's only taken them over a year to now realise that they fucked it so hard.

It's going to take so long to get people playing comp MM again, it was so bad that most players are now going to have a sour taste in their mouths from it.

We ban most scout weapons, does this mean he is a scout main?

Wow, I sure am glad we went through a whole season enduring the tip of the iceberg regarding shitty unlocks, only for Valve to say we ban most of the weapons.

Mission Accomplished. We did it, Global Whitelist.

Their human rights lawyers have told them they have to allow time to recover from PTSD before releasing a new update

Even if they add placement matches, we will still have retarded restrictions to make the mode unplayable. No amount of new maps and campaigns can fix the state competitive tf2 is in.

valve pr at their best, after all the shitstorm from last year in tf2 and cs go, this is how they chose to handle it and people still eat it with a large spoon
7 years of tf2 have thought me the only thing to expect is major disappointment
and if you know a thing or two about body language just look at the guys surrounding dave riller when he answers how many actual coders on the team ...
and to finish it off they spent the largest portion of the meeting discussing skins .... the only thing that actually matters to valve ....

I think VNN asked gabe in his AMA to do interviews and that's how he snaked his way into dave's inbox. Do everyone a favour and just read the text in this OP and don't give the guy views

kKaltUuDo everyone a favour and just read the text in this OP and don't give the guy views

Why?
That's some next level pettiness. He didn't do anything scandalous, he didn't insult anyone, he didn't spread misinformation. He went to Valve's HQ and asked some questions, what is wrong with that? Are you dissatisfied with DRiller's responses? Or maybe with the content Valve is planning to release? Why shoot the messenger?

Comp tf2 wouldn't ban most of the weapons if some of them weren't horribly dumb. What's even better is some of the weapons are easily fixable, and I'd be willing to bet that if even one valve employee asked all the top invite teams to playtest some changes to weapons in a competitive environment, a lot of them would be willing to possibly take a night off from scrims or demo reviews or whatever they do to help the team

complaining about the current competitive format LOL
a format that´s been successful for all these years with all the hardwork from the community with zero of dev support, when they created the current piece of shit known as MM .... that is so BAD that drove away so much keyplayers and community contributors from this game this past year that´s not even a joke .....
keep pursuing that mentality its making wonders for this game, and next year instead of doubling the unusual rate to meet the objectives for the year, you´ll have to quadruple it ...

I mean yeah, they shouldn't have released matchmaking without placement matches and ELO, but this is still good news. I just hope whatever they changes they make to Pyro and the unlocks are for the better.

On one hand, with jill confirming that mm was rushed out and driller confirming that their intention is to remedy that, that makes for good news.

On the other hand, how many fucking times have we been lead to believe things are different now? It's been a year since mm and we're only now at the point where they say "i think we'll consider adding those things now.."
Valve is like a cheating spouse, all talk to tell you they care but nothing to show for it

Shouniccan we finally put to rest that they "don't care"?

If they cared it wouldn't have taken such long time for these changes to be teased. My best guess for why things are this way is that they are lazy af.
