New deathmatch server for EU

Having found out that both TF2Pickup DM servers are pretty much full in the evenings, I decided to open a third one. Maximum players is 8 and the map pool is ETF2L's (and will be kept up-to-date during next seasons).

Just wanted to leave it here, so it won't go unnoticed :)

you should disable weapons that have no spot in dm.
for scout any primary unlocks, and any unlocks for melee that aren't the boston basher/blade
for soldier any primary unlocks and any melee unlocks that aren't escape plan
for demo, no sticky jumper, and no loch and load

Loch and load is not only allowed in the whitelist but is a primary many demo do and should run and therefore should be allowed in dm servers. I hate the weapon but it isn't like the direct hit where anyone using it in dm is just trolling(because that weapon is shit in matches)

3 scouts is worse than 3 soldiers in dm imo. Also i would be curious to see how 1 sniper slot would turn out in dm with headshot only

I think about headshot-only sniper thing. I sounds interesting. I'll let you know if I add it.

well scout is a powerfull class in dm ; when you're a projectile class handling 3 scouts on the opposite team is just too much i think. But at the same time 3 soldiers could easily mean a lot of spam so i'm not really a fan of the 3 class limits..It's worth a try though
Also i don't know who handles that but could the server be added to tftv server list ?

I am a scout mongo, and as much as I like asserting my dominance over other scout mongos; 3 scout mongos is too much, especially if there isn't an equal amount on the other team. 1 Scout vs 2 is bad enough on the other dm servers because scouts tend to just roam around together without even meaning to, a flock of 3 scouts running towards 2 soldiers the scouts are going to win 90% of the time.

True that, but DM is not all about winning. I think that at some point of aim level DM is way more worthy than MGE because not only does it teach aim, but also game-awerness, tracking multiple targets, reducing tunnel-vision, etc. Fighting against three scouts is in my opinion ok (well, at least unless you fight against three clockworks who just instagib you), as handling all of them will give you ease in fighting two at most in regular matches.

I agree with you to an extent, and I do believe myself that DM is more beneficial for practice than MGE as a lot more thinking goes in to it (or should at least), but thinking of playing with/against 3 scouts from the POV of any other class that isn't scout just seems really unenjoyable. The thought process would become "oh fuck here come the scouts" instead of "where's he dodging to" etc.

You can leave it as is, but maybe hold a strawpoll in the near future for the users in your server to decide.

Also to add on top of this,

Due to the fixed spawns, the team with the better players are always going to be just....pounding the other one (especially now with 3x solly/scout, even 2xdemo)

For example in badlands

STOGEthe team with the better dm will usually just end up sitting on the opposing teams train, keeping them in their spawn until they can push out which isn't very fun or easy to do when people are all spawning at different times in the same location, not communicating etc. Happens on many maps but it's always been most noticeable on badlands for me.

Just imagine being kept outside of your choke in badlands while 3 different scouts pop out of house and choke every now and then to get a quick kill then run away.

The quote is from when I discussed what I think are the benefits of random spawns if you want to have a think about that as a change as well, but again it should be down to a user vote.

Seeing a couple of players fooling around with airstrike and demoknight, I decided to change the whitelist to TF2Pickup's TDM one: http://whitelist.tf/tf2pickup_tdm which makes (hopefully) players focus more on aim & gamesense.

Two questions:
