DatDrummerGuyCasual rank limitation is much better than playtime limitation, especially since the last update, Casual XP is harder to get.

TBH a ranking system rework would probably solve the system in itself better (and should be done anyway).

right now, with everyone starting at the lowest rank, half decent players are lumped with brand new ones, players who abandon frequently, and players who are just straight up trash. theres a huuuge skill gap that covers the first few ranks. if there were placement matches, or hell, if players started at like rank 5 or 6 and had room to drop, then low ranking MM likely wouldnt have the massive elo hell problem it does right now.

i mean i dont have too much of a problem with casual rank being necessary but there are plenty of good players who might come back to the game to play MM just to find out they have to muscle through several hours of official valve pubs just to try it out.

ScrewballMM Unlock after 200 hours play time

I think if they make new and way better tutorials and force them or suggest them the first time someone opens tf2, this won't be needed.

ScrewballSource 2 with Vulkan port for better multi threading and GPU utilization when?

TF2 is multithreaded in the same way that a bicycle with training wheels is not a bicycle anymore because there's more than 2 wheels. You'd still call it a bicycle.

Any engine that supports actual multithreading would be great.

It is more for a casual hacker filter. IMO VAC needs hardware bans like Overcuck. Or at least give me the ability to block individual players so i don't get pared with the same hacker 3x in a row.

While I do agree with it being a casual hacker filter, the blocking players thing doesn't work out and is easily abused. I believe Overwatch got rid of that function after figuring that out didn't they?

I don't like how valve is restricting game modding because they want the game to appear as vanilla as possible for streams/recordings, but aren't taking efforts to improve the games aesthetics. Many viewmodel animations are (in my opinion) unpleasant and formerly had awful hand clipping at higher fovs (their solution was enabling minimized viewmodels and later slightly adjusting models to look better at higher fov). It would have been nicer to have an animation overhaul for some of the more prominent issues (eg demomans arms). Same with things like lighting issues, restricting phong/lightmap settings, so on. If you're going to keep the game vanilla so every appearance of footage reflects the real product, why not actively keep the product looking as nice as possible? The game came out 9 years ago, and started development even longer than that, I don't see why remaking some animations/textures/lightings would be considered a waste of resources when this day and age graphics DO impact peoples enjoyment of games (obviously gameplay and performance take priority, but after that, the game does need to look visually appealing)

It would be cool if the shortstop push animation also happened in 3rd person so that other people saw it
its bizarre that theres only a first person animation for that
also decent tutorials / training courses so that people can learn things more advanced than basic controls

How about you make another mode that is casual with competitive settings to bridge the gap between the two modes.
