i guess one way to hide your health and ammo temporarily is to change their min-mode x and y values to 9999

you should use lawena's killnotice hud.
this is the directory: lawena\hud\hud_killnotices
it has nothing but killnotices, so if you want it for jumping I don't think it will matter.
