sup buds. I'm going to be doing weekly map reviews throughout the season covering the ESEA map of the week. I'll try to go over each class and their roles on the map during holds, pushes, mids, and other things.

I'll be doing it Friday at 3pm cst(4 est) on my stream @ http://www.twitch.tv/seanbud

If you have any suggestions on topics to cover for cp_metalworks or the map reviews in general please let me know.

Here is a general outline I will try to follow:
Scout:
Mids
Pushes/holds
Offclass options

Soldier:
Mids
Rollouts
-Pocket: Ubers
-Roamer: Positioning

Demo:
Mids
Sticky traps
Pushes

Medic:
Heal rollout
Ubers
Holding positions

Like I said if you have any specific questions you can post them here or just stop by in stream chat and ask during appropriate sections I will try to answer them.

The VOD will be uploaded to my youtube Immediately afterwards. *twitch highlighting is moderately broken at the moment and I may not have the VOD on youtube until Sunday/Monday but the twitch vod will be there right away and I will post the link here afterwards.

Can you please spend an ample amount of time naming important places on the map?

Since people haven't played metalworks too much yet either nobody knows what to call anything or everybody calls everything something different. Or we end up with shit like "Gay" or "Cheese" or "Africa" or whatever other really intelligent thing people use.

Sean this is your chance to make your permanent mark on the collective TF2 community consciousness by coming up with names that we will use forever. Or at least until it gets voted out next season.

As a map people are not familiar with do you think dominant teams with raw DM ability will shine on it or teams that take the time to learn the map?

If you just run around the map a bit I believe you will find that there is not 5 gay hiding spots, not 10, but about 60. The entire map is one big gay hiding spot.

I haven't actually played the map yet; only checked it out for about 20 minutes last night after scrims -- but it seems that the entire map is designed for controlling high ground and pushing after picks. Does that mean that running pick classes would definitely be beneficial for pushes?

As a roamer, should I play super-aggro and try to make plays, or let a Sniper/Spy/Scout whatever get more aggro and play more of a supporting role at the flanks?

Also, I feel that last pushes would be not as much about having uber-advantage (like in process), as it would be easy to kite an uber, and that getting on the point immediately would be detrimental due to the closed nature of the area immediately surrounding the point. Should a team only try to push in with a pick, or could a team get really aggressive with an uber and go in? Since it's open, you don't necessarily need to pop early to push

My team have scrimmed on this map about 2 or 3 times now and the questions that we have so far are what are the name of the places, where should the combo+demo and the scouts+roamer hold in between each point (what is choke and what is flank) and how the FUCK can we cover each way, it seems very easy for the roamer or a scout to get behind your lines without being spotted.

I think twitch may have cut off the last part of it. Not sure. Hopefully it appears at some point.
