DarkNecriddoesn't matter if people are pro something if not everyone for that thing actually votes though, and the turn out was only 72%.

80% of people who had an opinion/were going to vote.
sorry i should have phrased it better

aroseI'm honestly still shocked, in my area it seemed like 80% of people were pro EU
seemed like a definite EU win, and I'm in a pretty rural area

Yah but how many grandparents did you chat to about it?

Anyway, disaster.

Guess now we'll have to wait and see if the new agreements will keep everything the same as much as possible, allowing the UK to freeride in the EU without actually investing in it which might encourage others to do the same, or if the agreements will be unfavorable to discourage other members leaving, which would harm the economy of everyone involved.

I'd say "welcome to the economy-fucked-by-old-out-of-touch-politicians" club, but tbh even stephen "OIL FOR THE OIL GOD" harper couldn't ever fuck up this badly if he tried

It doesn't include undecided or non-voters

You can short sell them probably.

Borrow foreign currency, buy pounds, wait for the pound to rise, buy back foreign currency, give back same amount of foreign currency to lender.

I WANT TO GET OFF MR BORIS' WILD RIDE

Once it was clear remain was losing by a high enough margin that there was no hope left the new game became waiting for my local area's results to come in, as we were one of the last to submit: more than half of my local area voted leave (52.7%). Bloody fantastic.

72% is not a low turnout in an election, the last US election to achieve 70% turnout was 1900 and it was above what the UK achieves for their general elections as well

this also isn't different than what the UK was polling before the election (slight lead for leave)

this isn't a turnout issue, this is a jingoistic nationalism issue

twenty202072% is not a low turnout in an election, the last US election to achieve 70% turnout was 1900 and it was above what the UK achieves for their general elections as well

just to add onto this point most US general elections get like 50% turnout since the 60s, it's pretty bad. off-years are something like 35% on average.

I can't wait for 40/50 years time, so that I can fuck over a generation of 16-24 y/o's and more.
