yeah i agree that was such a good game and such a sad goal to see go in since the goalie pushed it himself, (pens fan bais)

Well if the penguins can still beat the capitals without Letang, Maata, and Fehr I think it's safe to say this series is about over at 3-1 Pens.

Maybe. I'm not ruling out Holtby domination though. Caps offence could always pick up too, or Murray might crack under the pressure of closing out the series. Not to mention the series is headed back to Washington, which might be just the spark the caps need.

like i said in my pred, the ability for holtby to go huge or for some washington's premier offense is more of a streaky thing, and I highly doubt they'd get lucky 3 times in a row because pittsburgh is the decidedly better team on average (WAY more playoff exp, better talent overall). i do think holtby or ovechkin have one more carry game in them before washington falls, though. plus, it'd make my pens in 6 prediction accurate :^)

thankfully the STL series hasn't been close since the first game. they still played a lot better in game 2 but somehow weren't getting the goals they needed, and it's obvious dallas is feeling the wear and tear from playing against the big boys on STL. unfortunately, this is going to grind the blues too, so if they don't finish the series quick then the strain on their own bodies would make the CF pretty hard.

I honestly wouldn't have thought a team with both Kari Lehtonen and Antti Niemi would have massive goalie issues. I guess it's not 2010 anymore

Was literally one of the worst game 7 performances I have seen. Dallas looked like they didn't even want to be there.

That was a surprising round, the closest series imo was tampa vs new york and that winded up being a 4-1, the chosen team (washington) was eliminated by a, while less so than before, still hot pittsburgh team, and even though I thought the stars/blues game was incredibly one-sided (on the Blues), with Dallas' 3 wins coming by one goal and STL's wins coming in blowouts, it went to a game 7. Weird how things worked out, but the Sharks winning was the only series that made sense. Good series to watch too.

- Penguins over Lightning in 7: This series comes down to a lot of variables. If the Penguins had the fire they had at the end of the regular season and the beginning of playoffs, this would be a no-brainer. As it is, though, they lost that dominant edge against Washington, but still have the strength in my mind and the unreal play of Murray to beat out the Lightning. Tampa's defense corps is far greater than Pittsburgh's, Pittsburgh's stars are sure to finally pick up the slack and triumph offensively, and the goaltending duel between the pretty solid Bishop and the streaking Murray will be interesting to watch. Neither team is particularly tired, so in my mind it'll come down to Murray. If he keeps this pace up, Pittsburgh will win for sure. If he's decidedly average or worse, I give the edge to Tampa.

- Blues over Sharks in 6: The Blues get a good enough break after game 7 that 14 playoff games shouldn't be a big deal in terms of getting tired. The Blues beat out the reigning champions in a close-fought series, completely outplayed Dallas in almost every game (including in losses) despite going to a game 7, and Elliott has been near unstoppable. The Sharks aren't really a super specialized team, something you need to win the cup and definitely something you shouldn't be fighting so close with Nashville for. Nashville is designed to outgrind and outsmash the offensive juggernauts, not so much against teams like SJ. I'd say Blues in 5, but the Burns factor is pretty unreal and should be a Conn Smythe favourite if the Sharks make it out of this round. For the Blues' sake, I really hope that isn't the case. SHOULD be the easiest series for the Blues so far, but you never know.
