Matchmaking dx80 bug does not work anymore.

The bug related to matchmaking in which players with dxlevel 90 +, would invite friends with dxlevel 81 to their lobby. Now, currently does not work, although the players can join the server. What happens is that along with the other settings mat_dxlevel is also set to 90, which if players do not have dxlevel 90 + at the moment of joining then this setting will take place after they join the server. Which in some cases causes players to time out due to this setting having the game freeze for an extended period of time.

As said above, the setting will only take place after they join the server, precisely at the last bar of "sending client info" and the "welcome" introduction to the server. Within this period, due to the freezing of the game, it hasn't actually fully loaded the game and you are not spectator, ready to choose a team. As so, after the timeout happens it is not possible to rejoin the game and the game will be destroyed.

Honestly, class limits and dx81 for mm plz

Also a re-balance of the rank system. You can only go up if your team actually wins. It doesn't matter how well you do in the match, if your team runs around like headless chickens, you're going down. TF2 is a team based game. You make pushes as a team; you focus players as a team; and you win games as a team. Any player that has played a single match in any division will know this. That's why having a team rank in leagues works since players stick with the same team, however it's very inefficient to rank a single player depending upon how their team performed. Imagine putting a prem soldier in with an open team, and putting them up against another prem team. When the open team loses, why is the prem soldier considered less of a soldier? In team coordinated games rank based systems need to be based upon a lot more factors than whether the team simply wins or loses.

Exactly.

Also you wouldn't have the issue you're having Exze if you were playing at a higher ELO as higher ELOs typically = better teammates if you're solo queing. what you're experiencing isn't surprsing at all in a MM beta as everyone has nearly the same ELO. BTW you could just que with friends/teammates.

it's even worse when you end up top scoring, top damaging and top killing on the server by far, but you still lose xp at the end of the day

I think Valve is worried -dxlevel 81 will make spectators move to Overwatch. This wouldn't be an issue if a goddamn 2007 dx9 game didn't run like shit.

This is the only fair way to run it. Otherwise, everyone is going to try to play like solo heroes. You'll lose points on a win if you don't style hard enough.

If you try to fix this by preventing point loss on wins, then it'll be more like an exp system. It'll be too easy to gain points and too hard to lose them.

This is the only fair way to run it. Otherwise, everyone is going to try to play like solo heroes or else they'll get penalized for getting "carried" if they don't style hard enough.

If you then just prevent point loss on wins, then it'll be more like an exp system. It'll be too easy to gain points and too hard to lose them.

Very true, and I see your point. It's just a lot harder to go up any ranks at lower levels when 5/6 games you're actually winning, someone leaves because their team is losing, and you gain no exp from that game

you're right, but I think overwatch is a pain to spectate in a completely different way

Keep in mind Im not good, but I do okay in MM and get a few golds per game and winning only 2 of like 30 games and going back through zero on Fresh Meat like 4 times now is definitely a little annoying.
