sidestepany airports nearby other than poitiers? flying there from frankfurt would cost me 350€ and would take 8hours lol

Can't you fly to Paris and then find a way from Paris to come to Poitiers (car/train) ?
(I don't really know about the airports close to Poitiers tbh but that seems difficult to find)

We may be planning to road-trip there from the UK. We may be able to pick up people on the way in France, or you could road-trip as well from Germany with others.

Limoges, Tours, La Rochelle and Nantes are probably the 4 closest cities with international airports, but idk if any will have direct flights to Frankfurt.

None of them have. Just checked and it's easier to fly to paris and then take a train from there

At that point it might be cheaper to only use trains

Try to put your request here, when/where you arrive in Paris (or even in France) and you can find some tf2 players who can do the road with you.

One of my teammates is coming from Strasbourg and already came to Poitiers once, I think you can add him to ask him about that. His name is Akii, feel free to add me if you don't find him on Steam though.

Visitor tickets are unlimited, so don't worry, you'll have yours ;)
For train tickets, i'd advise you to go on the sncf website (french train company) asap, as booking early nets you cheaper tickets. If you get a ticket just before you go it'll be super expensive.

Kane and I are thinking about going/making a team, if the whole thing doesn't get too expensive.
Anyone have any tips on accomodation? It seems like there's only one hostel in town and that one's already fully booked? Is it possible to sleep on a floor somewhere?

Also Tea please check your PMs. Pls respond.

Any news on pc rentals? Would make attending a lot easier for me and I'm sure for others too.

Unlike with DH, we have 3 months to organise this. While it would still be almost impossible to donate to get 2 NA/AU teams over, I think we would have enough time to donate to make 1 team go over.

I know that I would donate ~$20+ to get one team over for this event, whoever the best team is at that point.

Does anyone else agree with me or am I completely mad trying to make at happen twice in 1 year?

Also, if he's unbanned yet, MattCV please don't answer this.

I may very well end up flying to paris and then going from there. (This is a question probably directed to the frenchies) Are there any cheap choaches or maybe group tickets for trains that offer discounts? I'm literally clueless on how public transport in France works. Also if there's anyone driving from paris, I can buy you beers :>

I think pretty much everyone who's flying is flying to Paris, you might as well rent a van or something and go all together.

cuteteaAnd yeah if there are buses or anything else along those lines, I'm in. You can get trains back from Poitiers to Paris on the 28th only for 75 euros or more at the moment. Not a very good deal.

Let's do it, it is an awesome idea.
Unfortunately, Gamers Assembly doesn't make a PC rental. Moreover, in Poitiers, there is not a gaming café or something like that in order to rent a PC.

TurboTabsAlright, ALL RIGHT, who seriously wants to be part of the Gamers Assembly coach roadtrip, from birmingham, stopping off at paris airport then going to Poitiers, our rough price estimates is £100 per person, March 25th is our rough time we'll make the trip, then same route back on roughly 28th to go back home

Please leave a message if you're interested in a coach ride with a bunch of tf2 nerds, plus any additional information

Crossposting onto this thread for everyone who mentioned they were interested. NOW is the time for sorting out teams/travel/accommodation!

If you want a lift from the UK, or picking up in Paris, post here!

Would like a lift from the UK, can make it pretty easily to most places in south (and maybe the NW?) easily. Won't be bringing a PC or playing with a team but willing to help out with carrying stuff/helping out at the lan if necessary.
Won't need a lift back.
