Shooting at the Inland Regional Center

I cannot fathom how people are motivated to kill women and innocent bystanders (they are shooting at a government center for disabled children)
The shooting is still going on with 12 fatalities so far, and I hope that nobody else dies.

It astounds me that extremists like this have access to firearms.

Here is an article on the active shooting: https://www.rt.com/usa/324372-san-bernardino-active-shooter/

Didn't you hear? Shootings are the cool new get famous quick scheme!

But yeah, this really sucks. Fuck that guy.

Edit -

I looked more into this story, and the shooting didn't actually take place at a Planned Parenthood. The location is Inland Regional Center (website is currently down - most likely from all the traffic related to this incident - cached version here) which "provides social services to people with developmental disabilities".

The Planned Parenthood facility is apparently around the corner according to the article you posted and NOT the location of the shooting. Not sure why it was even mentioned if it has nothing to do with the incident.

namassinNotice how the title reads "Near a Planned Parenthood"

Yeah, I just noticed that, but why mention it in the first place? Why not just say a shooting at a social services center? Unless Planned Parenthood was this guy's real target and he attacked the wrong building I don't see why it needs to be mentioned.

namassinI cannot fathom how people are motivated to kill women

The article did not mention the genders of any of the victims except the one girl locked in an office room.

Nothing like using a tragedy to push an agenda!

I apologize for the error, but the fact that these lowlifes are murdering people with developmental disorders is still disgusting.

luxorI honestly hope ISIS is not involved.

Why would ISIS be involved? They have nothing against the developmentally disabled. This is just a hate crime with a sick agenda, like most domestic shootings.... And it's really really disgusting,

Edit: i was reminded Isis was persecuting the developmentally disabled at one point. I apologize for not being entirely correct.

Idk how American Conservatives can actually believe that guns are making this country a safer place. It's sickening to me. Look how safe countries like Sweden and Denmark are without firearms. It just doesn't make any sense to allow the common person to own such a lethal weapon.

How much I am against firearms, please do not use this tragedy to spread your view on it on a game forum.. so pointless and will result in a long discussion which only brings more hate

Its not a view as much as it common sense, guns kill people, when two people have guns they kill each other.

Please stop derailing this thread with pro-gun and anti-gun posts. I created an inaccurate the title due to an early report of the shooting. The post on the other hand, is accurate.

The mutually assured destruction of everyone having guns would not matter when attackers don't intend to survive.

Regardless of whether or not goat-fuckers international are involved, this is absolutely an act of terrorism. This trend of small scale, fast shooting based acts of terror scare the fuck out of me. They could happen any time, anywhere, are easier/cheaper to pull off than 9/11 or 7/7 style attacks and are thusly not limited to big obvious targets.

The first responders have done really well in this incident, including immediate setup of field triage/treatment for victims and activating their emergency response plans. All cities need these plans, regardless of size.

MAD doesn't apply to firearms.

This happened 8 miles away from my school.

Our school sent out an email and we have extra patrol cars going around the area
