ABOUT

This time it is for real, guys: an intercontinental brawl awaits us! Samsung Galaxy Gang unfortunately could not make it to our last showmatch, so they agreed, as the 1st place holder of the European UGC Platinum division, to take on their North American counterparts! The Galaxy Gang looks really strong on paper with multiple ETF2L Season 8 award winners on their roster. But will it be enough to defeat the US-boys? They themselves have some familiar names on their roster, such as karl, sigafoo (he will be casting this game though) and of course i52-champion and legend b4nny! Surely a lot of these players will have a showing in the upcoming Nations Cup for their respective countries, so do not miss this battle of the Atlantic, when BlackOut TV once again goes live at 20:30 CEST on Sunday! The long anticipated NA vs. EU with Heavy Is GPS, sigafoo on the microphones and camera.

badwater_pro, viaduct, and gullywash. Should be a fun showmatch. I don't understand why it is on saloon since this seems like a casual, for fun thing.

To show teams and bring the hype to our users too.
We've had announcement for DeutschLAN for a while and added bets for all the previous games, and we want to continue with it :P

DOS protection euros pls. I guess you don't have as many people wanting to attack servers but this is just frustrating now.

Saloon should just give the skins to the winners so these DDoS'ers don't get what they want.

MetaweDOS protection euros pls. I guess you don't have as many people wanting to attack servers but this is just frustrating now.

They used a non-protected server twice, and a OVH DDoS protected server twice. The DDoS mitigation of that provider can take up to two minutes to kick in. I don't know if the teams left before it kicking in or if it wasn't effective enough.
Unfortunately the teams didn't try one of the other DDoS protected server options in the EU.

It would also have been nice if all 18 players had taken the normal precautions for showmatches to prevent the gameserver IP from leaking out in the first place.

You know the cast had the !stv command, right?

EDIT: My mistake. !stv gave a relay

Players from both teams were timing out from the EU servers. The first round on viaduct started lagging when there was about 10 seconds left for both teams so we managed to play 1 round on an EU server.

The !stv command will always point to the relay address.

Just launched 12 new German (Düsseldorf) servers which should have way better pings for Western Europe. DDoS protected too, yay! Look for RheinBrigade and let me know what you think. These will probably replace the 12 Fritzbrigade servers.

Not sure why they didn't follow up on Arie's advice :(

All bets were refunded.
Don't want to think that this is entirely my fault, but if the DDoS was betting related (though it could be too early in the game for that?) those lyrics seem somewhat fitting:

I'm a gambler, and I will take you by surprise
Gambler, I'll aim this straight between your eyes
Gambler, yeah I know all the words to say
Because I'm a gambler, I only play the game my way
