so I found this software available on the steam market. It isolates cores so the game runs on its own core. Is there a way to do this without spending $20?

I'd be interested in knowing if this is possible too. These updates are starting to shit on my fps.

Can't you do that already with process lasso or even task manager?

See stabbys performance pack.

I personally wouldn't mind shelling out a small amount of cash if it does it's job right. Process lasso is a little rich for my taste with it's yearly subscription.

The best Ive done manually is disabling cpu0 in the task manager affinity.

Edit: Actually guys this should be covered by the 2 week steam policy shouldn't it? if so a try could be harmless!
It's 39 MYR where I live which is 9.95 usd, a better deal to my mates here.

This isn't worth $20, this isn't really any different than the free Razer Game booster. Also for people who use Launch options, CFGs, and disabled aero. You'll likely see very little difference if at all.

Question, Razer game booster stopped services and controlled the priority of applications, but isn't the point of this software to control the cores the processes are running on?

I can understand if you said this was no different to or a simplified version of process lasso, but isn't comparing it to game booster a bit off?

I'm just asking because I've messed with proccess lasso and cpu affinity kind of thing with tf2 before and generally found some positive results, on paper it seems to be doing something along the lines so I'm just reconfirming.

Alright so as far as I know, Game Booster ends services/processes, and changes the priority of your game to High or Realtime. While I'm fairly sure it doesn't change affinities, I could absolutely never justify or recommend buying a program that does only process affinities and priority for $20. Cause you can do this for free, it's really really easy, and it doesn't help with that many games, or the amount it helps is fairly minimal.
