gandalffMaybe its just cause I really want it to be true, but I've been seeing a few R+L=J hints this season..

Maester Aemon: "A Targaryen, alone in this world, is a terrible thing."

*Jon Snow walks in*

Yeah me too :3

The big one for me was Stannis saying something like
"That wasn't Ned Starks way" in reference to Jon being his bastard.

I got an unpleasant vibe that Olly is gonna do something terribly wrong to Jon soon. Sam basically just advised him to do something others might percieve as wrong if you think you're doing the right thing...

Anyway, this episode was fucking dope. Hyped for the rest of the season!

I mean, he does get stabbed by the night's watch in the books when he wants to let the wildlings through, unclear if he survives it, I honestly think Olly and several other brothers will turn on him. I don't want him to die, Tyrion and him are my favorite characters. I know I shouldn't have them in this show though, I realized that shit after the Red Wedding :(.

For fuck sake I think everyone heard you the first 5 times someone tell her to shut the fuck up. Also this season has had like no boobs. We get a Sansa sex scene and we see nothing, the girl who plays Dany has decided to stop being nude for some reason. Haven't seen any of Margaery Tyrell or anything and its just really disappointing to be honest. Only thing keeping me watching this are the sand snakes and we might get to see the short haired one and the asian go all out lesbian. Even in this latest episode I didn't see a single boob in a BROTHEL. Season 6 had better step up the nudity or i'm done. Oh yeah and also

Show Content
They are really starting to stray too far from the books. I thought season 1 was pretty much perfect but since then the show has been good enough but I haven't really liked the last 2 seasons all that much. This season has had cool moments but sometimes it is probably better to stick a little closer to the books. Also the combat in this latest episode was really poorly done for the most part in the last 15 minutes imo. It was actually like watching something like Dark Souls. I thought the whole scene was poorly done and compared to some of the fight scenes that the show has done before I found this to be disappointing and predictable.

That's pretty accurate to how people advertise their wares.

I really hope you're joking about the nudity thing. This show has so much more going for it than female nudity. If you want boobs, just watch porn.

As for straying from the books, I think it's mostly that a lot of plotlines would be extremely hard to tie together in a 10 hour season. It's also difficult for a show to have some character's motivations and subtleties when you have a show and the only way they can convey things is through dialogue or monologue, whereas in the book, you can see the character's thoughts. While I'm sad some things from the book didn't make it through, I'm perfectly content with the decisions D&D have made.

All these people suddenly hating Stannis for this are blind. His men were starving and they wouldn't have stood a chance if it wasn't for the sacrifice from where I see it. It sucks that an innocent girl had to be burned alive like that but it's not like Stannis wanted to do it. He didn't exactly have many options and that sacrifice might end up saving A LOT of other innocent people. She isn't the only innocent little girl in the world and her sacrifice might be the correct thing for him to have done. In the episode before this, Sam talks to Olly and tells him that leaders must make difficult decisions even if his followers don't agree with it. I think the show's writers knew that fans of Stannis would be pissed off by what he did, just like the people on the wall were pissed off at Jon for going to help the wildlings. In the end however Jon managed to save a lot of lives, kill a white walker and get information down that the dead are coming. I think in the long run people will forgive Stannis for this and see that it was probably necessary to do (same with Jon, The Night's Watch will forgive him and see that what he did was right if he manages to stay alive long enough)

Anyways episode 10 should be interesting.

Honestly I might maybe agree with you, but it was a ridiculously contrived setup. He let a band of 20 men completely wipe out all his supplies and cripple him to the point that he can't even make a retreat, and do it unnoticed no less? What would have happened if the Boltons had decided to make a surprise attack? They would have been wiped out. That was a massive failure of military readiness. And furthermore, Jon HAD to go get the wildlings ASAP, or they would have been wiped out. Stannis didn't have to continue and fight the Boltons at that moment, he could have left and came back. Davos was advising him that this was a terrible idea the entire time. I don't think its an apt comparison to Jon's situation at all.

I disagree considering his (rightful) claim to the throne. He said it himself, if he doesn't act his claim will be forgotten. He has to move forward and move quickly, otherwise he'll lose his soldiers and he'll be nothing but a page in another man's history book.

That's just it though. The reason it was so effective was because there were only 20 men. Anything more and you risk being noticed. If you look at history you'd be surprised at how many times small numbers have been able to devastate an army using similar tactics.
