hello! ive been on hiatus in making videos due to the fact that i wanted a new computer, and now that i have a new rig ive been wanting to make videos again.
i have tf2 and steam installed on my ssd but i have a 2tb harddrive. i was wondering if there was a way to make tga files drop into a folder in my harddrive instead of the tf folder in my ssd.
btw i use aron's source recording tool. not sure if there is a way to do it on lawena or something.

.TGA files from the recording tool? Pretty sure TGA (TARGA) files are VERY large and, while being more more modifiable (like a .rar), they sound like they'd be very inconvenient to string together. (although I might be wrong, my only experience working with .tgas is from limited experience in photoshop and lightroom)

It's pretty easy to convert TGA + sound files into an AVI with VirtualDub (this is pretty common with high definition tf2 recording).

alright, so even if i do this, the tga files still go straight to my tf folder.
if its any help i manually set the host_framerate and host_timescale in-game, as well as putting startmovie "name" in console.

Source doesn't like dealing with files on different drives. I've had to do something similar in the past, which I accomplished with this. (can be done through the command line if you're on 7, but the context menu link is convenient)

I use 'startmovie X' manually as well. You can specify a drive in naming the file, allowing you to output to anywhere, eg
startmovie "W:\Tools\Raw_TGAs"
Ensure that you use quotes.
