Hey.

For my statistics hw, I need to conduct a survey about something, so I decided to do it on preference of mouse size. So tf.tv what mouse size do you prefer?

You should probably include some form of dimensions in each mouse instead of just small, medium, large.

Give examples of each size & common/similar mouses - i.e. deathadder, various logitech, etc.

If you want something less subjective, you could ask something quantifiable like: how many hours per week do you spend playing computer games? 0-5, 5-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30+

I'm not looking for what company they enjoy, I'm asking for size. i thought of how many hours they spend playing video games but that didn't answer what my teacher was looking for.

What he meant was you could use common mice as examples so people know what category their mouse falls in. Like
Small (dimensions+common mouse that size)
Medium (dimensions+common mouse that size)
Large (dimensions+common mouse that size)

you should have asked what grip, as that would be a major fact for size decision, as people with a palm grip are going to want larger mice, and people with claw grip will want smaller mice

don't worry too much about defining the variables, especially for qualitative ones

it's what you do with the data that matters anyway, focus on that

I disagree. You can only use what your data indicates and without clearly defining variables, you can lead the respondents answers leading to false data leading to false conclusions

definitely would help to put examples of popular mice under each category, since people have different perceptions of what a "small" mouse is

Mouse size preference is almost completely dependent on what kind of grip you use. I think that just about anyone who has normal hands and palm grips likes a large mouse.
