#156 Announcing RGL.gg Sixes - Season 1 in TF2 General Discussion

seems like the RGL team is missing some key people:

1. a user experience researcher who talks to players of all levels and guides decision making based on concrete data that is viewable to the public

2. a publicist / face of RGL that is not sigafoo (aka widely controversial) and can field questions in a mature manner

#12 Automated Looking for Scrim in TF2 General Discussion
callFEELDMaybe I can awake intrerest of other devs:
This project will need probably:
  • Front-End Developer (creating a website with HTML/CSS/JS)
  • Database (SQL)
  • Back-End Dev (Grabbing APIs, building interaction with maybe a Discord Bot, general website backend, Building a rating system of teams to better match equal teams)

you’re missing a designer

go to uni because I heard that if you start working, it's hard to get motivation back to go to school

#88 What's your dream job? in Off Topic
catman1900I want to work on open source software :)

but I can't because everyone expects me to be rich from working in computer science and to work in open source software I'd need to take a massive pay cut :(

No you don't. There are very large corporations that specialize in OSS (and if not the whole company, then at least some division of the company). I can personally vouch for working at Red Hat. Great pay, amazing people and culture, and tons of open source work.

#64 Physical punishment in childhood in Off Topic
joddpascalIt really depends on the nature of the child. For some children, it works and they grow up to be fine, healthy adults. For others it affects them negatively. I think you have to find the right balance for that particular child.
It really depends on the nature of the child. -- what does this mean? what inherent "nature" would a child possess that dictates corporal punishment would be the best, most efficient approach to parenting?

You're putting words in my mouth. I didn't say corporal punishment is the best way for any type of child. What I mean is that some children react in a less negative way to corporal punishment than others, depending on their nature.
