As promised, here's a gallery of the Aurora PCB in WMO shell mod.

http://drok-radnik.com/junk/wmora_mod/

Started by hacking away with a blade and bending the plastic off the bottom shell. Refined bottom shell with rotary tool and built wheel cradle out of old DVD case spine (pro tip from bst). Had to re-open and adjust the front PCB height a few times to get the best click response. The middle click is still a bit stiff, but I'm giving up for now until my potentially counterfeit ones arrive, which will probably solve that issue.

The top shell was done just with a blade and looks like shit. Next time I will have a bit more of a clue as to how much to remove.

Love this mouse I'd recommend. Coming from DA 2013 and this one is awesome.

Yeah my aurora broke down, apperently the drivers somehow broke the sensor and my mouse skips at very low speeds at the moment. Tried to reset, reinstall, switch profiles and what not but it stays this way. Be careful when you go through the drivers (:.

Same thing has happened to other people also, found them as I tried to find a fix for it myself. Such a shame.

I greatly decreased the squishyness of my left click by putting a small piece of paper underneath the mouse button. It took some repositioning and it's still not perfect, but it's definitely better.

THAT'S WHAT IT FUCKING IS!

I knew there was something odd about it for a week, I'd just turn and it would just immediately skip up for no reason. Back to my AM :(

Alright so I got mine 3 days ago and so far it seems great. However its been kinda spazzing when I move it quickly to turn around. Is it because I'm having the same problem as WAR and zappis or am I just maxing out the tracking speed?

I tried to make the mouse skip immediatly after I got it and it took GREAT effort to do so. I play cs at ~45cm/360 and it never skipped on gameplay even at times when I flick around like a madman. I strongly fear that u broke ur mouse with the drivers as well BibleThump.. Ordered G302, I really want to try that mouse :D

Had same issue with deathadder oddly enough

Enjoying this mouse quite thoroughly. I am still trying to get used to the position of the side buttons, but the entire feel and performance of the mouse is great.

I suppose one other thing I can comment on is the mousewheel feeling a bit "stuck" at times, but apart from that THUMBUP

My second Aurora doesn't have the same left click issue but it does sit a couple millimeters above where it is supposed to like a lot of other people reported (my first one both mouse buttons were even and sat flat, these do not). This is less annoying then the other one so I will take it.

switched back to my FK1 :<

I have no hardware complaints, no mouse1/mouse2 complaints, no mousewheel issues, no driver / software issues

but the mouse feet simply are too thin - the plastic surrounding the sides is digging into and fucking up my mousepad

I guess I could swap it into a wmo and use hyperglides for the feet but that seems like a lot of fucking effort

you could file away a bit of the plastic, i've done so before on mice.

You could also put the spare set of feet on the existing set, which I did after I noticed the excessive drag.

Hey while I'm here, can I get some keen folks to test something for me?

I've been investigating this Aurora button issue, and why it is so much harder to sync the buttons for rocket jumping. I tested the button latency against the G100S, and it is only about 3ms slower. The interesting part is when you test the mice on their own in the Bloody Mouse Shooting Speed Test.

When I test the G100S on its own, the difference between left and right click is anywhere from 0-10ms generally. I accept that I am human and cannot press both buttons at the same time all the time in my natural grip.

However, when I test the Aurora on its own, I either get a value of 0ms or >53.9ms. I find it strange that I cannot get a click timing offset less than this value. It appears as though there is some kind of firmware issue causing delayed clicks when they are not synced within a very tight margin.

http://drok-radnik.com/junk/aurora_buttondelay.png

Would be nice if somebody else could verify these results, as it might just be an issue on some units (or just mine)

Can you tell me more about your beta version, like approx date you received it, anything else notable? I assume its still a 3090 sensor with the Holtek HT82A525R MCU?

I got it in the middle of this September, it is definitely A3090, but cannot say anything on the MCU. Also it requires a different version of drivers than the final one.

Hi,
Thought I'd post here since theres some discussion going on.
I just wanted to say that the 50ms delay between clicks is to ensure the switch operates properly, especially as it ages.

Have a look at this page, under "Programming hint: Preventing problems caused by chattering":
http://www.renesas.eu/edge_ol/engineer/16/index.jsp

Its something the factory done without me asking, a Shootmania player found it, because he couldn't do the microjumps (which you need to do a fast double click to pull off). Since it only really affects that game, I decided to leave it (it can't be changed now, unless I disable it in future production), I thought that better "behaving" switches was better for more people than double clicking faster than 50ms.

50ms delay between presses on a single switch is fine. The problem is that two totally different switches cannot actuate within 50ms of each other.

Thanks for your time in acknowledging this issue

Sorry I didn't really address that properly. I didn't know about it until now, since I didn't know you could test a single mouse in that program, and I couldn't tell it was happening in game. Unfortunately its like I said in my last post, it needs a new PCB to change how it works.

Somehow I doubt that 50ms of filtering is necessary to keep a single switch from chattering. Something else must have gone wrong, like someone plugging in the wrong value or making a judgment mistake.

Best of luck!

It doesn't just affect Shootmania. It primarily affects a game like Quake where you are required to rocket jump. But you can't reliably rocket jump with this mouse due to the delay of more than 50 ms between m1/m2. This mouse is useless for quake due to that defect and many people are reporting the same inability to rocket jump consistently. I hope this is something you can recover from and fix.
