I have had this problem for close to 2 months now. I CANNOT connect to servers randomly. It'll just freeze at retrieving server info and my game just goes not responding. I know I've posted about this before but it's getting so annoying. I can't find a fix for it. PLEASE HELP

Is this to any server?

If it's an internet thing, try adding hl2.exe to your firewalls inbound and outbound rules.

Mine freezes like that sometimes as well, but it doesn't usually last for more than 2 minutes, but it has lasted that long. I'd just be wary of that and wait it out

This happens to me like countless of times when I join a server as it takes about 1-3 mins to join. Though it is kinda rare when it takes like more than 5 mins to join.

I know this might sound stupid but it worked for me, that's why I am going to say try this out.
So first go to

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\bin

and then delete client and server dll. After that verify the integrity of the game and it will redownload these two and after that, you should be good to go. Do tell if it worked out for you as it did for me!

yep tried that. I also tried what rick said when he told me to do a ipconfig /release and /renew. to be clear I can get a ping back from these servers im trying to connect to, so it doesn't seem to be a networking problem.
