Why that class?

Inspired by the "why do you play tf2" thread, the "why did you pick that class as your main" thread.

This is kind of an interested question for me because I've never been able to settle on a main. In HL I've played demo, pyro, and engie, but I always want to drift to a new class as soon as I can. If anything I feel like not picking a main is hurting my ability to improve.

What about you? Have a main? Why that class? 6s, HL, pubs all apply.

I main soldier, simply because I found it to be really easy in pubs when I was younger and the ability to rocket jump around and hit airshots is really satisfying and fun.

back when i used to play competitive tf2 on ps3 (yeah that was a thing) i played soldier on the best na team, and i guess my love for roamer just trickled over when i finally got a decent computer and started playing on pc. i could see myself playing other classes, but roamer will always be something i find genuinely 100% enjoyable all the time

i main tf2. i try to play every class and just get better in general. for example, soldier mge greatly improved my medic surfing. just play man, dont worry about having a main.

Scout because the friends I started with picked demo, medic, and soldier.

I made the wrong choice I think, I enjoy all 3 other classes as much or more.

grenade launchers are the coolest thing in the world and i love games that make them explode on contact so when i started tf2 i admired demoman the most.

Also i love heals and highlander demos take all the heals :-0.

Soldier because when I started I used a trackpad, and it was the easiest to hit shots when I had a trackpad so I mained that. When I got a mouse I switched to 6s pocket, which I found fun, but now I find roamer extremely fun because on the flank you can make big plays and literally jump everywhere

Mained demo because it was, at the time I started, not as popular as scout/soldier (and arguably still is). Kinda grew into it.

In pugs I play the idiot roamer that does stupid jumps just because. And Market Gardener.

I played spy a lot in pubs (and still do in HL). I was always a fan of games like Metal Gear and other stealth games so spy always appealed to me. When I started doing sixes, I picked roamer because it was kind of similar to spy (flanking, getting behind, roaming around, etc).

My first 6s team needed a scout. I'm laughably bad at jumping so I've used that as an excuse to not pick up demo/soldier.

I played soldier in 6's for awhile now and ive done it because i like to rocket jump around.

I played heavy in hl for awhile out of necessity for a main caller.

Medic because it's the most important class by far and also the least recognized class in terms of skill. This game heavily revolves around the uber/heals whether we like it or not.

I always enjoyed soldier because of the versatility.

Demo because every time I would play a pub before I played competitive, there'd always be tons of sentries that nobody would be able to take down and everything would get boring and stalemate out. Learned how to use angles to take them down without an uber, and use an uber to take out multiple, so when the idea of competitive came around it was my most played class.

I chose scout cause I came from a CS:S background, also the meta at the time was to have the scouts offclass and I have a hard time sticking to one class throughout the entire scrim/match
