I was looking for a telestrator or something that could mimic it for my stream, and I found this cool little piece of software called Epic Pen.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/epicpen/
It basically lets you draw on your screen and then quickly erase it. I hope that someone out there finds this useful for their next cast / video / stream!

This would be a great replay tool. Has anyone even though of making replays in casts? Can that be done?

I could see instant replay working if you had something like shadowplay constantly recording the last 2 minutes (60 fps) while streaming. Then, when you want to replay something stop the recording and open it with a video player in fullscreen and playback at half speed (30 fps).
If you had separate scenes already made for TF2 and the video player, and only switched scenes after the video player was already fullscreen, it would be a pretty seamless stransition. The only glaring issue I see with this is the fact that it's a lot of work to be a cameraman and this only adds to the workload.

I don't think that instant replay is really that feasible, given that the cameraman doesn't always have the right POV of the action. Since you can't "rewind" SourceTV, which would be the best option, you'd want to grab the demos, which only appear post-match. The other option would be to have several instances of the game recording different angles, but that would use a massive amount of resources for little game.
I could see post-match analysis (similar to what was done at EMS One Katowice) happen sooner. You'd need to grab the demo (which is available more often than not nowadays) and have a general idea of the tick(s) that you want to review (which could be made possible). The really difficult part of that is the fact that you don't have commentators in control of the visuals, so there would be a lot of awkward fumbling to go along with what they are saying (similar to how the cameraman rushes to switch POV to whomever the commentator announces they are watching for a midfight).

yeah I had this more in mind for post match analysis. simply playback the STV in windowed mode and then pause freely and draw. the only thing is I wish you could move the STV camera around while the demo is paused :/ oh well

When I was doing STV commentaries on my YT channel, I looked at ways of doing this. Drawing within the video editor is slow as hell, and I didn't have the budget for a tablet so in the end I gave up and opted to just add colored rectangles to highlight areas.
It's neat to see there are other solutions that are software-based! Reminds me of the videos on Khan Academy for anybody familiar with that site.
Good find Slin.. as a guy coming from a sports broadcasting background, I think this could really add legitimacy and help the quality of any post-game content we put out here. Could be used in demo reviews, videos about map strategies for lower level players, all kinds of things. Hopefully people get in and play around with this.
