call repeating phenomena

I've noticed that a lot of people (myself included) call things twice. ie "They're coming flank, they're coming flank" and "Medic's down, medic's down" etc. Just wondering if people think it's worth it to make sure people heard or does it just clog up comms. It's become a huge habit for plenty of people, but I might consciously try to stop doing it since I'm pretty sure it's not necessary.

i started noticing that i'm especially guilty of this, but then i started paying particular attention to it and realized that everyone on my team does it.

I cannot call without calling it more than once. I want to say it's because the comms get cluttered sometimes, but I think it's just a natural habit now.

This is one of the most entertaining features of watching streams, when you call unimportant things you say it once, when it's something important, twice.
When playing with ppl of my own language we just call things once with a stronger and louder voice tone. I think you can achieve the same level of awareness on the other players without saying it twice, just saying it louder.

I am also guilty of this habit, and I want to get rid of it. People say I sound over-excited and too arrogant.

i call things twice because i never know if the first part transmitted fully or not

some people say my mic breaks up too early or i might be hitting my ptt key slower than making the first initial call

I think we've trained ourselves to assume no one else is listening. I've yet to play with a team that doesnt do it.

The main reason is a lot of things are called out that really arent necessary, so while you call out something important, someone else is saying "i just spawned" or "on my way". So it feels like people didnt generally hear it.

You're not alone.

A few times Ive repeated "Aggress the med now" like 5 times, just because I felt like my team wasnt acting fast enough.

I've used a really quiet 10 dollar logitech mic for like 3 years, and I usually have to say things multiple times when I skype people even, so it's a force of habit now.

I guess I should change it from a lot to a majority. It's just really interesting how 80% of us have trained ourselves to think of the worst situation for our comms (breaking up or people too focused on killing someone to hear it the first time).

i think i call important things like 5-6 times, or just keep saying it until it happens. i.e., "get the med, get the med, get the med, get the med"

I do it because fuck saying it once in a normal tone, seeing it not be capitalized then hear afterwards "Well you should comm it then!"

I honestly didn't notice that I did this until I was scrimming one night and my brother was in the room and after a while he was like "dude why the fuck are you saying everything twice, you sound like a fucking retard"

do whatever it takes to ensure people hear/respond to important stuff.

i would much rather deal with people talking too much(because it would be easy to just tell them to stfu), than with people talking too little.
