Okay, so I need a new mouse. My current Steelseries Sensei Raw is almost broken (left mouse button is cracked) and I cannot whatsoever decide on a new one. I've done countless research, read many threads and watch a lot of videos, but none were really explicit enough. Keep in mind I'm using a fingertip grip at 9.6cm/360, and mostly play demo/solly/sniper.

I've gotten down to 4 mice:
Logitech G400
Zowie FK
Razer Deathadder 2013
Steelseries Rival

Now, I know the G400 has a great sensor and is really ergonomic, but I also know that is breaks very easily. The FK is great, absolutely no complaints, except the fact that it is ambidextrous. I've had the Sensei Raw for a year and a half, and the fact that it's ambidextrous really annoys me. It's nowhere near as comfortable as right-handed mice (I previously had a Razer Imperator 2012, which btw, I don't recommend). I know the LMB and RMB on the FK are curved, and so give a better and tigher feel, but it's still ambidextrous. I was lucky enough to find the 2013 Deathadder in a local store (you'd be surprised how sparse good mice are around where I live), and was given the chance to actually feel it. The only problem I know of with it is some driver issues, and I personally know that some razer batches are broken while others last forever. I have absolutely no experience about the Steelseries Rival, as it's only very new.

I know there's countless mouse threads out there, but none were useful enough. Does anyone care to shed some light on this issue which bugs me a lot?

Have been using g400 for more then a year without any issues at all. Same as my previous mx518, it's built like a tank. It's a great mouse that works for both grips and you just can't go wrong with it.

From my experience this is all you have to do to avoid any g400 cord problems.

the fk was my second choice after the d.a 2013 just because the fk was about $20 more at the time.
after almost a year i've had no issues physically or with the driver.

Honestly the Deathadder 2013 is very good, but it suits a palm grip better than a claw grip.

Have you considered a Zowie EC1/EC2 eVo if you don't like the fact that it's ambidextrous? The EC1 is closer in shape to a deathadder. I prefer the EC2 because it's a little smaller and it feels better with a claw grip, for me.

IMO the ambidexterity of the FK doesn't really feel uncomfortable or anything. Having switched over from a deathadder, I haven't had any problems adapting to the shape or anything. But then again, my grip is more of a claw grip than a palm grip, so the fk fits me better than the da.

I'm not exactly using a claw grip or a palm grip, I'm using a fingertip grip which is somewhere between the two. Razer manages to describe it quite well.

Zowie is excellent.

Been a couple years of heavy use and mine still works like it was brand new. Big mousefeet. Really nice.

I fingertip grip as well, but have been using a Roccat Savu the last year or so. Since you dislike ambidextrous mice so much, I might recommend looking into it. Besides that, a Razer Abyssus might work well, but just from your list I'd say the Zowie FK/Deathadder are your best bets.

A thing that reviewers/threads rarely ever discuss is how balanced the weight of a mouse is, and I've used lots of mice, and from experience most palm grip mice, such as time using an Evo EC2 and G400, have a heavy backend, causing a uneven feel to the mouse which causes me to more have the back of the mouse drag behind as I'm moving the front, instead of moving as a unit. It's simply due to the fingertip grip, you don't have a supporting palm to accomodate the heavier backend, but I find it makes a mouse much less usable for me, however it might not be an issue for you.

I did that by running the cord through a lock. My G400 still started dying a week or two ago. (I also did that with my MX518 which died the same way, though I had that mouse for a good 6ish years)

I just got a Zowie EC1 Evo to replace my dying G400. Could be an option for you if you don't want an ambidextrous mouse. My only complaint so far is that the weird rubbery material can feel kind of weird, and it's hard to pick up (but with the really low LoD and me angling the mouse up instead of fully picking it up, it's not a big deal).
