I thought the 3D transitions made everything look super slick, and the over all feel of the cast felt very professional. I was really happy with the way you guys used my camera, made eXtine and Duder look like professional esports commentators!

I'm still not sure the current score board looks right with the rest of the hud. It fits with the other custom stuff you had going on, but once you get into the the actual game it doesn't seem to fit with the TF2 Hud. It just looked slapped on top, because nothing else on the screen is like it.

is there any chance at moving the medigun's in use + percentage lead in between the two team's player information instead of at the top? makes it easier to read/see imho

(also, cant wait for the YT VODs)

Working on breaking down the twitch vod and get it on YT. We'll make that adjustment to the hud as well.

Yes, absolutely. Will make the adjustment to the HUD tonight.

We currently are looking into an aesthetic redesign of our HUD to bring into line with our pre-rendered graphics as well.

thanks, love the work that you guys have put into your presentation...thanks!

watching the euro cast of mig vs tlr and they're switching to comms of the teams once in a while during the match. Would've been cool to have something like that at FITES or just in general.

We tried to go to match comms with Street Hoops at one point, but really all we needed was just a little more pre-planning in terms of the mumble server everyone used.

Looked great, I think they're all on our YouTube now.

Scoreboard: maybe there's some way you can use my scoreboard that I've been using for post produced casts?

I've never really liked the seperate medigun panel. It contains so much redundant information and I don't feel like it's necessary, but maybe that's just me.

Also is it possible to get your hands on the live damage panel that's been used in some ETF2L matches? I think it's amazing to have for midfights.

Hey there. Fellow cast producer here!

TheManWithNoNameis there any chance at moving the medigun's in use + percentage lead in between the two team's player information instead of at the top? makes it easier to read/see imho

Check out the HUD I did for eXtv's cast on this Highlander match. The Medic's über HUD elemeents are in the middle.

dashnerYes, absolutely. Will make the adjustment to the HUD tonight.

lols beat you to it weeks ago, nerd.

joejoe347I'm still not sure the current score board looks right with the rest of the HUD. It fits with the other custom stuff you had going on, but once you get into the the actual game it doesn't seem to fit with the TF2 Hud. It just looked slapped on top, because nothing else on the screen is like it.

That's because it is "slapped" on top, silly. Dashner uses video loops with an alpha channel so that it's transparent, but I get what you're saying. I think the transitions and the scoreboard look really slick and all, but it feels like the graphics look like they're more for TSN Hockey or ESPN Football rather than Team Fortress 2. They don't fit TF2's style. But hey, I'm not complaining either. Not like many other people are doing custom stuff.

Oh wait, I am!

I've been working on a TF2 XSplit casting plug-in this past month. Here is me showcasing two features: a scoreboard and roster which will fade in/out with the "J" and "K" keys. The scoreboard can be incremented for the Home (left) and Away (right) teams with the "[" and "]" keys. The score can also be decremented if the "shift" key is held down.

And here's what the scoreboard looks like up close (looks more like TF2, eh?):

This is the first working version I finished last night. I plan on releasing it to the public so that *ALL* casters can make their stuff look pretty good. I will have an eXtv flavor and a generic one for the public. I'll also have my HUD and everything else up on my blog next month when I have an official release of the plug-in. When I do release it I'll make a new thread with feature requests, blah blah blah.

Anyway, great job Dashner! Keep up the awesome work! I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Edit: I did some research and it looks like my plug-in will work for OBS as well as XSplit. You just need the "CLR Browser plugin" for OBS to play SWF files. Huzzah!

This is all my opinion, but :
It would be cool if you could move the killfeed below the players. Just IMO ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm sure the three people who still use xsplit will be thrilled :)

Oh snap!

Edit: My bad if I was rude! I was trying to be silly and promote my shit. Later!

I do totally disagree, sorry. It allows the viewer to see which mediguns are in use, and uber advantages. To me that's as important as the play clock and down marker in football, or the shot clock in basketball.

When I tuned in two weeks ago and saw that I thought it was super spiffy. The icons are great and having the Übercharge percentages in the middle was a great touch.

Having the charges in spot really helps, at least in my opinion, because the casters/streamers can't control where the Medic's position is on each team. I remember when I first started watching competitive TF2 that it made it a little harder to follow due to the symmetry of class positions on the SpecHUD only ever being an accident.I also really appreciate when whatever HUD is being used has the server map time limit and the capture point statuses (obviously) visible. Not unwatchable without it, just much better with.

Thank you! eXtine and I sat on my stream a few weeks back and went over just about everything together. The TAB scoreboard, killfeed, fonts, icon sizes. It still needs more tweaking but I'm glad you like it. I'm happy with how it's developing so far.
