I need some good books to read. I haven't read a lot, so i'm not really sure on what genre i like the best. If you have any suggestions, that would be awesome.

The Count of Monte Cristo - by Alexander Dumas

One of the best revenge stories ever written.

I just read The Long Walk where a Polish cavalry officer talks about escaping a Soviet work camp in Siberia and walking 4000 miles to India. Incredible book.

If you like music, I've been reading a bit of Chuck Klosterman. It's pretty damn engaging.

The Dark Tower series is great if you like epics. I would also recommend Little Brother by Cory Doctorow if you're mildly tech savvy.

Edit: Also The Stand and Cell, by Stephen King.

Infinite Jest
Stiff
Fahrenheit 451
The Satanic Verses (on humble bundle right now for audiobook)
Catch-22
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (mixed reviews, but I loved it and found it heartbreakingly funny and intensely moving. The movie sucks, skip that.)

I will never stop recommending Borges to people. Some of the most amazingly lucid literature out there (equal parts magic realism and experimental). Def not an easy read, but so worth it. I got my name from the short story 'The Garden of Forking Paths'.

Philip K. Dick wrote some bizarrely fantastic stuff.

Also, give 1984 a shot because the times, man... the times.
