So last week I ordered all my parts to my pc and I have them and will be building my pc by the end of this week (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2kHX5). I ended up still having around $100+ or so and I can't decide on a nice ssd or a cheap monitor to accommodate my benq. I would also be willing to buy a used monitor/ssd if they are in decent shape and not too expensive so if you have a monitor or ssd you need to get rid of please let me know. But just let me know which you guys would think would be more beneficial.

Edit: Also suggest cheap monitors please, leaning towards a asus but not sure which one. Or suggest a nice ssd around $100

Having a 2nd monitor is really nice, but for just 100ish I would actually suggest a SSD instead just because monitor is one of those parts of a PC that can be re-used for like 10 years if you're will to drop quite a bit of money for a really good one, either high frames or great image quality. (Like the 120hz one you have in the build already)

After having both, and losing both, and getting them back again, I'd say the SSD is a far greater luxury. It can make even a shitty computer feel good.

The extra monitor real estate is amazing. If you don't have two monitors you're missing out.

I say go with the SSD. Nothing beats rebooting and being back in mumble 15 seconds later.

buy a ssd now and some 35 dollar lcd off craigslist later

you dont need two 250$ monitors, a 15/17 inch 2nd one should be fine

So much this. Got my "second" monitor for £20 on Gumtree. Better refresh rate (75 vs 60) and a more preferable aspect ratio for me (4:3). Worth every penny.

SSD for sure. 2nd monitor doesn't need to be amazing 120Hz like m said, get a ~$30-50 one. SSD makes you much more productive when load times are non-existent. Con is that everything else feels slow (couldn't stand my other desktop/laptop's load time, even though I have a shitty SSD that has like 120MB/s speeds).

As frowny said, the 4:3 res is actually quite nice for your second monitor. I have a 1600x1200 panel and it's glorious.

SSD hands down. Get a 250gb one if you can, everything is lightning fast and you can still install some apps you use regularly on the ssd for extra performance

SSD, and then look around pawn shops/thrift stores/garage sales for any monitor that seems decent as a second..

I ended up getting a 50" HDTV at the thrift store for my primary, for $40, and use the laptop screen as a secondary.

From my comfy chair, makes for a very poor mousepad though... All you see there, sub and speakers included, cost me less than $100
