While it doesn't happen often, when it does, it's serious. One of the newest teams to ESEA-Invite has seen their season destroyed after a teammate, HitmaN was banned for cheating just minutes ago. In the recent ban wave's many recognizable names have been banned.
The ESEA League Rules state, "If a player is found to be cheating and/or using illegal customization on any server that is part of the ESEA Network, any matches played by the user for the team he/she is on at the time of the detection (not the time of the ban), in addition to any matches played for any other team after the time of the detection, will be overturned."
The ban should result in all matches being overturned for the team, leaving them with a 0-9 record and being marked dead for the season. His teammates quickly defended the player on the forums, but there is likely little to no chance of their season being salvaged.
The team was sitting in third place in ESEA-Invite with a 5-4 record, with key wins over compLexity, United5 and Extertus. Stay tuned to ESEA News for any more details about the future of DYNAMO Gaming.

One player cheats, whole team banned? Surely it's more ESEA's fault that they didn't catch the cheats with their client rather than the teammates' fault for potentially condoning it? Regardless I find it pretty inefficient to ban every player on the team when it's far easier to fool your teammates into thinking you're legitimate than it should be to trick an anti-cheat client.

For some reason I read banned. Regardless, marking the team dead before further research doesn't give his teammates faith that they'll be able to keep playing. I think that should probably be done after research. Although I guess theyre not officially marked dead yet. Hope they can still play. Sucks not being able to play the season...
